His friends and family all noticed how depressed he was. The UK media wrapped cotton wool around geldolf he was n is their golden boy he can do NO wrong. Michael was persecuted in that country he should have stayed in Oz. What is bizzare was his geldolfs production " breakfast in bed" which was fronted by HIS WIFE, she took literally. They should've named it 'Breakfast in Bed with My Wife" A well-known fact she was literally in the sack with other men during their marriage, and he made it personal with only Michael. Geldolf n yates were sick little puppies n Hutchence got caught in the cross-fire.

@ellenlyons4090
@ellenlyons4090 Жыл бұрын
Paula Yates was a brilliant TV personality a talented interviewer and writer. You could say he changed Paula because she was a happy working mother of three girls when she met him. She changed I think she loved him to the point she would do anything to make him happy including drugs. Why she didn’t give Bob Geldof custody of the three girls and take Tiger to live in Australia I don’t know. She could have come to arrangements to have the girls for holidays or come back here. I think there were a lot of factors why he did what he did Paula never believed it was suicide she thought it was a sex act gone wrong. Why else would he have been naked. He wouldn’t have wanted to be found like that naked. He wouldn’t have wanted his family to have to hear those details. If Paula became unstable it’s because she had developed an addiction not just the drugs but to Michael as well. She left her baby to be with him the baby they both loved and wanted. And say what you want about Bob Geldof there’s not many men would take another man’s child on and bring her up as his own. But he said he wanted to do the right thing and raise her with her sisters and he wanted to do it for Paula. Bob Geldof suffered the pain of losing his wife in a very public way. He kept a dignified silence . He even expressed his sadness and horror of what had befallen Michael and was beyond heartbroken when Paula passed but still he had compassion for their child. He brought her up out of the public eye made sure she had a good education was loved and protected. Doing this whist again suffering more tragedy losing his own daughter Peaches the mother of two small boys in very similar circumstances to Paula. RIP Michael Paula and Peaches may you all find peace.

@@ellenlyons4090 Bob suffered the pain??? Bob Geldof moved his girlfriend Jeanne into their home not 7 months after Paula "broke his heart" and moved out. Later, ex-lovers of Paula would say they have an open relationship. Bob was just jealous and didn't want the open relationship situation to end. That said - for all Bob's bullying poor Paula and Michael, I do think he was the best person to raise Tiger Lily. Paula had been visiting Bob and the girls a lot and even staying overnight, in the years leading up to her death. So Tiger was already close to Bob and her sisters.

Paula wasn't unstable, her friends have all said the same thing she was teetotal and rarely drank alcohol and never touched drugs, in fact Robbie Williams said that Paula once told him only dickheads take cocaine. Paula got hooked on drugs either whilst she was with Michael or after he died. She was under constant siege from the media with lies being told about her, even on her flight to Australia when Michael died the journalists had booked seats on the flight and wouldn't leave Paula alone. Then when returned from Michael's funeral the media ambushed her and asked her if it was true that Hughie Green (who she hated) was her biological father. She denied it her own mother denied it and said it was lies, Paula found out when she got the DNA results in. That is enough to make anyone break down and hit rock bottom and instead of sympathy all she got was ridicule, hatred and humiliation.

The fact that Michael changed a lot after a major head injury after being attacked doesn’t seem to be acknowledged here. I feel desperately sorry for his family as he seemed a lovely man and it was such a waste, so my heart goes out to them, but this man totally changed after the attack and head injury. His moods were ever changing as stated by Helena Christensen, one of the reasons their relationship ended. So to blame it all on Paula seems very unfair. He had a head injury that led to depression and was taking drugs. Lethal combination. Very sad. He seemed a gentle soul.

He committed suicide. It's as simple as that. So many people do commit suicide and the only people who really understand why they do it, are the people who do it. It's such a strange thing to contemplate for a normal minded person to understand. Most serious head injuries cause severe depression. He had so much pressure in his mind at the time. Take Caroline Flack for example. People should stop giving credence to the auto errotic asphyxiation nonsense theory because it's disrespectful to the man's memory.

@@posniknelb6114 agree with you. Suicidal thoughts can come on strong and very quickly and as you said, only the people themselves know the reasons why. If he had trouble regulating his self, as reported, after the TBI, it’s very understandable that it’s the injury that led to his suicide. I agree the auto erotic asphyxiation theory seemed like a twist of truth Paula introduced because it was easier to take. If Hutchence was just moments before screaming on a phone with Geldof, I highly doubt that’s the time one is going to feel excited for some self pleasure, plus he had someone on their way to visit. I do find it really odd he was found naked- especially if it was a suicide. Why!? There is talk he was murdered. The fact he wanted to leave Paula, had just called for old girlfriend to meet up with him, and that Paula was the one who suggested his death was only a sexual game gone wrong, makes me suspicious of her. Especially if Hutchence mother said here of Yates is true- that Yates threatened to kill herself and their daughter. That’s 100% manipulation and threat to do bodily harm to innocent others. So, she’s capable of it- even if she hired a hit and made it look like a sex act gone wrong.

Auto-erotic aphix is for many a cool rush, an orgasm with a capital O and I think MH wanted to clear his mind and get recharged, so to speak. Experts in the field of such practices said his death was unintentional, that he had the gear in hand to release himself from his belt when the mission was accomplished. Unfortunately, it didn't go as planned. It's a dangerous game.

A loving close-knit family? His mother decided to leave his father, and told Michael to keep it secret for three months before they left. He was only 12 or 13 at the time - much too young to have to keep something like that from his father and brother who was also traumatised by it. He had that brain injury and I think it led to bad decisions including Paula. He didn't need to embroil himself in that nasty mess that was her divorce which was caused by their relationship. It was all too much for him. Michelle Bennett was perfect for him but they met when he was young and his career was taking up all his time. If they had married, he'd be alive. I'm not saying he didn't have a cheeky side to him but he was also sensitive. Look at Bono. He married young and stayed married and is alive and well and still successful. It's so sad. That one incident where he was injured was the beginning of the end and I feel it made him more vulnerable. The drugs didn't help either. Prozac and other antidepressants can sometimes make people suicidal. The recreational drugs certainly didn't help. Combining both was what made him so much more worse. He had no capacity to deal with all the turmoil in his life. No sense of taste or smell, not being able to see his daughter, a career that was in jeopardy... He really needed to be put into a hospital but no one was with him at the peak of his despair. He did drugs for his whole career as far as I'm aware of. They're also making a point out of him seeing a therapist. Like that was something bad! What about him seeing the therapist to late? Maybe he didn't seek treatment because you two were judgemental? If he'd seen someone earlier, maybe he'd got more help. To me Michael seemed like he was head over heals in love with Paula. Just like she adored him! She couldn't live without him. The whole thing is just so sad. If it was just the two of them, I'd understand why they did what they did. But that little girl! Even though she lied when she said it wasn't a suicide, I feel bad for what Paula went through. Many of her own decisions and possible bi-polar condition, brought on her legal problems and depression but everyone can make bad choices. Truth is that if his death was due to erotic games, he would have tied the belt around the doorknob so he'd fall safely - but as investigators noted, It was tied around the closing mechanism at the top (the ones that stick out to keep a door from slamming) to ensure he'd be lifted off the ground after pulling himself up to push his head through the loop - that's for suicide. Paula's never said seex games in the police statement, stating that he sounded lonely and sad on the phone the night before and was suffering from depression. At 1st she told magazines that Bob killed Michael because of the fighting's impact on both of their mental states. True or not, that's slander and it was only later that she changed her story to eroticc aphixation. It may have been under legal pressure from Bob because of her slanderous comments or denial. Sad story all around.

Paula didn't have bipolar disorder in fact she never had drink or drug problems before she met Michael. She started on them after he died because she was so heartbroken. Paula isn't to blame for his suicide either, Michael suffered a traumatic brain injury about 2 years before he got involved with her, he had brain damage and due to his injury he lost his sense of smell and taste as well, then throw drink and drugs into the mix it probably made things worse. He never had proper treatment for it either when he came round in hospital he apparently flipped out, pulled the tubes out and left. This happened when he was with Helena Christensen and he swore her to secrecy she kept that and only revealed it about 20 years after he died when the documentary Mystify was being made. I doubt even Paula knew about it. That type of injury is probably what led to his suicide his autopsy confirmed the brain damage

Author Lovegrove, interviewed many who knew Paula and Michael, and found that Paula was telling friends Michael was on edge and had threatened suicide in his final year just weeks before his departure from London. Read the "Police Statement of Paula yates" she and Belinda talk about the problems Bob caused. lt was rumored that the reasons Paula later change to the sex game story for some reason. Speculations at the time from the press was that she was making up the sex games either for money and/or because Bob threaten a slander suit for her calling him a murdered n the press (which despite how Paula felt - it is technically slander.)

Bob, the press and Paula were the biggest problem. He was severelly depressed and was determined to not return to England. Friend Catherine Meyer said he called her a few days before he passed "crying so hard I could barely make out what he was saying. Going on about relentless press and legal problems" He was back in therapy on Dec 17th, 3 days after Duran2 made that horrible song "Michael you have a lot to answer for". Last year they said it was about drugs, but that's a lie. Its talks nothing of drugs but has lyrics saying Michael should "stop wanting to be" !!! (kid you not) and that he shouldn't want to be involved in someone else's war. Interviews at the time it was released, they said it was because they supported Geldof and thought Michael shouldn't be helping Paula. After they were criticized for driving Michael into a deeper depression after he took his life, they tried to say it was a fan song! Paula complained that Bob was trying to make her poor and Bob was furious that, by way of his real estate, Michael was insuring Paula had a roof over her head. When he died, she was staying at his Smith Street home and Michael had GIVEN Bob his Cheyne street apartment so he'd let Paula have back her 18 Reburn home so she could sell it to settle her debts. Bob recall, had her fired.

Michael's sister, Tina, has spent many years blaming Paula and even after it was revealed he had suffered a bad TBI in 1992, she still wants to blame Paula. Only recently she has admitted that the TBI was what caused his 'suicide'...and not Paula. Paula never did anything to hurt Michael. Nothing. And he fell in love with her and wanted the two of them to marry, because they were so happy together. When Michael initially left Australia he wanted to see and experience everything, and that included dangerous drugs, dangerous sex, having money to buy cars, art, clothes. One of his best friends said that Michael was addicted to drugs and casual sex. Paula, pre Michael, did not drink, smoke or do drugs and I dont think she got caught up in all of that. When she lost Michael she went off a cliff. Michael was the best frontman in rock 'n roll history and I loved his voice, his sweet nature, his poetry. Michael Hutchence clearly did not expect to regain consciousness as the coroner ruled! He hung himself from a door hinge above the door - not the door knob. After he died the belt broke & he fell to the kneeling position facing the door. It was suicide. Although Yates changed her story from depression to EF & said she was challenging the corners report, she never did challenge it. Duran Duran wrote this horrible song in Oct 14, '97, telling Michael to "stop trying to be" and - while later they tried to say it was about drugs - originally they said in interviews that it was regarding his involvement in the custody case. Odd, since the press knew Paula dragged M into it & was getting him to pay her legal bills. The song was released on Oct 14 AND 3 days later poor Michael was seeing another therapist - Dr. Mark Collins. See "Michael Hutchence death explained: the Coroner's account in his own words" Herald Sun. Shortly thereafter, he and Paula decided to try Australia. Conveniently, Duran Duran were awarded the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame after changing the story behind that cruel song to being about drugs - no doubt at Bob's request!!

madelena1234 on the other hand people do in fact get involved in relationships and can become deeply involved before they or their families are able to recognize they’ve allowed a very manipulative divisive unstable person into their lives. Once tiger lily was born Michael was in a very precarious and serious situation and he had no way to resolve it, especially with Paula being her mother. My brother has fallen into a situation much like Michael’s. It does happen. Our family is living it. My brother is a totally different person and we haven’t seen him now in over two and a half years. We used to talk with him on the phone all the time and now even phone calls have virtually stopped. It’s a nightmare watching very unhealthy imbalanced people web their way into a family member’s life and there’s nothing you can do to rescue your relative. Mental and psychological control happen very slowly over time as partners learn how to persuade their prey into believing whatever narrative they choose to plant when the intention is to isolate them from others who love them. I believe Tina and Michael’s mom that Paula was toxic and they saw him rapidly decline and isolate more once she entered the picture and had tiger lily. Then she was able to use the child as leverage to easily control him.

It is common sense people... Paula Yates did not get money from Michael's will she had a expensive habit and went to treatment many times (not cheap) so Paula made ran with the AE story after a reporter from england suggested it. It is common fact that someone battling depression taking antidepressant medication can not get aroused and has no interest in sex. Not to mention the alcohol that also is an antidepressant drug. It was foul play or suicide!

Paula was a very manipulative woman ...she said to the INXS manager in 1985 "I'm going to get that boy" to which the manager replied....leave him alone! Then in 1986 she married Bob Geldof. She knew that to manipulate and control Micheal she needed to have a baby with him. Micheal felt very trapped, she threatened all sorts of things, why would he marry a woman like that? Baby or no baby! She was even jealous of his family, Paula was a narcissist, all the evidence is there. She was an intelligent woman and had a plan from 1985....she was obsessed and the boyfriend she had after micheal in 1998 looked just like him, which i found weird!! If she loved him...she wouldn't of got a boyfriend as quick as she did, it was an obsession, she had a very addictive nature and Micheal was another drug she couldn't do without...obsessions are dangerous and eat at people's minds, she was no different, I'm sorry to say. I watched the interview she agreed to do after Micheal died, she was keeping the truth back about that last phone call, i could see straight through her. Nothing will bring Micheal back but I do feel this is one of the saddest ends to a super talented legends life. 💙

But since you brought up his age one thing I have noticed is seeing some footage from the mid 90s up until his death he did seem to suddenly age and look like a shell of his former self seemingly overnight. Footage from 94-95 he still looked like the same Michael (albeit slightly more mature)even his eyes looked brighter and happy. Then around 96/97 he changed. He seemed to have aged 5 years in just under 2 years and even just from watching interviews he seemed different. The dyed black hair didn't help either. His own friends and colleagues noticed the same thing as they mentioned it in the documentary on Michael called "The last rockstar " I don't think his relationship with Paula was good for him whatsoever. He may have adored her but all the bs that went on certainly didn't help and ultimately helped lead to his death

@@cristinadanielamoen6099 Actually a lot of people talk about that incident and how it affected Michael. I'm referring to his final year where he really looked and seemed different than his previous self. Did I say anywhere that the incident in Copenhagen was better? Nope. And just because Paula is dead does not make her above criticism. I don't think that was the healthiest relationship and there is nothing wrong with pointing that out. Look at all the drama and gossip Michael an Paula endured during their relationship. That cant be healthy for any relationship. Its obvious that all that negative attention from the media was getting frustrating to Michael and certainly did not help matters. Of course his brain injury a few years prior did nothing to help and probably aggravated the situation but I think had all the negative press and bullshit with Paula and her ex had not happened then its possible he'd still be here today. Its not entirely Paula's fault as I believe she truly loved Michael however that relationship came with a slew of negative repercussions and I'm not going to sugarcoat my opinion on Paula just because she's Tiger Lily's mom. I'm not solely blaming her for Michael's death but I believe the stress of that relationship helped contribute to his downfall and inevitably it led to her death too. Tragic situation no matter which way you look at it.

Paula lost custody to her own children because of her mental instability - and rehab not to mention her suicide threats. If I was Bob I'd agree that he had every right to keep his daughters with him for Chrismas! Nobody prevented her from taking Tiger to see her father at all. She didn't though and chose a public legal battle instead, for permission to take her 4 daughters out of the country. The court date was moved and she opted to stay and fight Bob. Nobody was preventing her from travelling with just Tiger. So when she gave the news to Michael that fateful night on the phone that she and Tiger were not coming, he was dead by morning!! She did not have a problem travelling to Australia immediately for his funeral! The whole thing makes me sick! She then grabs the tabloid headlines declaring that Bob was responsible for Michael's death! She called her own children's father a murderer. It's sickening.

We know they waited a month to see a French neurologist, then no regular medical follow up. 93 and 94 MH seemed pretty 'well'. or one could say the 'injury was gradually catching up to him. They say we have to take care of ourselves first, then others, If MH was so miserable in London, perhaps he just needed to leave Dodge, despite Paula and their baby. If he took a drastic action in the name of his health, no one, not even Paula, could fault him. Send her a check for baby expenses. He needed some good ''advice' as much if not more than an anti-depressant, not taking these actions was an accident waiting to happen. BTW, Paula needed a shrink as she also was likely depressed too.

TBI contributiong factor but not the reason. He was severaly depressed because of Paula, the press & Bob. Duran Duran wrote this horrible song in Oct 14, '97, telling Michael to "stop trying to be" and - while later they tried to say it was about drugs - originally they said in interviews that it was regarding his involvement in the custody case. Odd, since the press knew Paula dragged Michael into it & was getting him to pay her legal bills. The song was released on Oct 14 AND 3 days later poor Michael was seeing another therapist and renewing his prozac.
