I have been saying this for years and some might disagree: Children cannot "consent" to having and being on social media, similar to many other aspects of their lives. There is no way for them to actually comprehend the implications that this could have on their lives, their futures and their relationships. Yes, they may think it's cool to have videos of themselves online and to share with friends, however, they may not think it's so cool years into the future having so much of their lives documented for other people's entertainment..Daddyofive comes into mind.

Huxley may be safe, but those poor kids left in the home will be forever altered over what their parents did to their brother.

As a transracial adoptee myself, my heart hurts for Huxley. I'm REALLY glad to hear the foster care system has him, but I am BEYOND angry that she used the words "Mommy" and "forever home" to describe it.

if you watch some of her videos, she details that they received a CAT scan prior to adopting him. That scan revealed a cyst on his brain and parts of his brain that were not developed, and, after consulting with multiple doctors...was told that adopting him was not something they would recommend. MYKA and her husband both decided that they would continue with the adoption because she used to be an RN. They were told that he would likely have significant needs. They ignored that advice. Unfortunately, she documented her arrogance on several of her videos 😕 she also has been exposed on several Instagram videos discussing that his therapies were too expensive and that they cut back on frequency and sessions. Quarantine likely made behaviors worse and with her other children, I doubt he was getting the consistency he needed. Autism can be so frustrating and beautiful- but in no way should it call for someone to throw away a child...I hope she gets expose

Why does everyone keep focusing on Myka? JAMES and MYKA gave him up. All three of their channels should be affected and the “family” channel should be taken down entirely. I feel bad for the other children as well. This WAS their brother. I’m sure one or more will eventually be on Dr. Phil.

They were at 4k subs before they started the whole adoption process which involved talking about and sharing private details of a little boy that wasn't yet legally theirs ("the Hux"🙄). A bigger, fatter house, 2 or so extra cars later they were at 700k subs. That's an increase by a factor of 175. Huxley is the ONLY reason why these cows are relevant!

I came across your videos a few days ago, had never heard of this family at all beforehand but the story hit close to home being adopted myself. I am almost 48 years old and developed a personality disorder due to major abandonment issues that have affected my whole life. Years of self loathing, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and tendencies. I am so very heartbroken for Huxley and almost wish I never delved into the story. I pray he is with a GREAT family and gets the help he will so desperately need. His siblings must be so distraught losing their brother of 2+ years. They "rehomed" him like a bad dog and its so vile to even think about this let alone know it happened to that poor sweet boy. So badly I want to cradle him in my arms and never let him go. I hope whoever adopts him showers him with so much love and pours their soul into him. The family who let him go (i can't even type their names) need a very thorough investigation as to their ability in raising the children they have. You did an amazing job following this story through to this point and I hope his new family takes the gofundme money and gives it all to Huxley...maybe you should invest it for him or buy him something special with it...I just don't trust anyone to do the right thing for Huxley at this point as far as cash goes.

Not sure if you saw Dr. Todd Grande's video on the matter but he noted that Myka asked what kind of special needs seem difficult but really isn't in that adoption forum. She wanted to look like a saviour. Like her love saved him sort of prop. I had no clue who the Stauffers were until this situation got around. I felt so bad for the little boy... I'm glad the Huxley will be with a family that can give him more love and proper attention. I really hope he'll be able to heal from the trauma of everything he's going through.

Who is his legal guardian? Technically we don't know if he is in a safe environment as the investigation is still ongoing.

I can't stand Myka - she's getting what's due to her.

It's not over yet. We got a long, long way to go to make sure this NEVER EVER happens again. There is Holt International to contact and the Federal and State laws to make sure they get created and enforced.

They duct taped the childs hand! Anyone having experienced the removal of duct tape from your skin, knows that's abuse. And using that duct tape (or any other measure) to keep an autistic child from accessing that which comforts him, is also abuse.

"Family Vloggers" shouldn't be a thing. There's a difference between having a youtube channel and featuring your kids occasionally and having a channel where the only focus IS the children, and the channels that have that sort of content are 100% exploitative.

As an adoptee myself, and as someone who also contacted the Ohio Sheriff's department out of concern and outrage, THANK YOU. For articulating what we all are feeling, for advocating for us. And, most of all, for keeping Huxley front and center. While we can all celebrate that the world has finally become aware of the stauffer's sick motives and dangerous "parenting" tactics, I agree that it's best, if possible, to keep the focus on Huxley and try to give him a normal life in the future. The trauma this whole incident may cause him in later years is being comprehension. It's immeasurable. And it inspires me knowing that there are others out there who not only have seen this for the wrong that it is, but have taken legitimate action against them. Keep up the great work.

I don't think people were too off the mark for thinking he might be dead. She said he was already re-adopted when he wasn't, and further we have MULTIPLE instances in recent memory of white adoptive parents killing, starving, or harming their transracial adoptees.

He's not a missing person, but that still doesn't mean the family he is with now are good people. Remember, the adoption agency thought the Stauffers looked good enough on paper to adopt Huxley too. So how could Myka & James possibly be sure they picked a good family for him? (since they didn't go through agencies for it) This is far from a conclusion, imo.

This is going to sound really mean but I hope they can't come back to KZfaq. I hope they can find another job to help bring them back down to reality.

After Highschool I worked in a special needs school during a gap year, I saw quit a few thing that made me uncomfortable, (I tried to report them but that’s a different story) I feel like especially with the non verbal students, there was an attitude of “they can’t snitch on me” with some of the staff members. I feel like there is a similar attitude here too, let’s exploit a disabled child, strip him of his culture, name etc. but since he will probably not be able to “snitch” on us we can do what ever we want. I think it’s difficult to tell how well he will be when he is older but I don’t think he will be able to sue them for the money he made them & the child labor he had to do.

I know this Mom said "God softened her heart to consider adopting a special needs child" but I don't think she was prepared AT ALL to take on raising a child with Autism (let alone everything else that this little boy was suffering from). I don't think she asked enough questions or did enough research or really found that support network to help her in raising Huxley. I just think she used him as a means of making money for her KZfaq channel (which clearly took off and became very successful after they adopted Huxley) and when people started questioning this, she got rid of him. What REALLY bothered me was what I read in one of her messages where she, herself, actually articulates concern about whether she is parenting this child right or whether she's putting him too much on KZfaq. I got REALLY angry when the Mom was saying that her son had had several meltdowns that day (and he's still clearly uncomfortable) and she asks him "Are you done?" CLEARLY she doesn't know the difference between an Autism meltdown and a typical tantrum is she can ask that question. When Huxley was screaming and crying after a haircut, and Mom was beaming like the Cheshire cat.....that was NOT CUTE. You probably just traumatized your son with a new sensation that he clearly did not feel comfortable with. And after all her gobbledegook lies of claiming that he was HER SON and how much she loved him and how perfect he was in their family.....for them to just reject him and "re-home" him because they couldn't handle his disability literally makes me sick and makes me question their ability as parents. And yes....I absolutely think that they used this child and his disability to make money and then they threw him away like so much garbage and I am GLAD he's with a new family. But my heart breaks for Huxley because now, he has to overcome and adjust to being with a whole new family after 2 years of being with Myka and her family. That trust has to be re-established again. And I'm sure that Myka's rejection has probably left him with irreversible emotional scars and I pray that the videos ARE deleted so in 5 years or 10 years or 20 years he won't find these videos and wonder "why wasn't I enough? Why didn't my Mommy, who said she would always love me and protect me....why didn't she keep me?" And what REALLY makes me angry is, AFTER they "re-homed" Huxley, they made a comment about adopting ANOTHER special needs child, and the husband was saying "what is a disability that is hard....but not TOO hard, so we don't have to endure that again?" That's disgusting.

Basically we want justice for this baby and we know its up to us to make sure he gets it based on how we react to what happened to him. It's a nasty situation all the way around. We can't wrap our minds around parents using this baby for money and fame. Its always going to leave a sick feeling within us

Also there are 4 small children in the Stauffer house in terms of harassment. People are going after anyone Myka ever posted a picture with ... you can post a picture with someone and not know the details of their life. A line has to be drawn even though we're concerned.

Huxley needs an independent party--a Guardian ad Litem appointed, to continuously check and see to his welfare and especially to advocate for him in any action against the Stauffers. Is there anyone in Ohio who would be interested in petitioning the court to become his Guardian? I also want to add that I watched another video in which they were all at the beach. Huxley interacted beautifully, reacted playfully and happily, hugged James. I don't know how severe his issues were supposed to be and I don't know a lot about autism other than there are many levels...all I'm saying is he didn't seem to have severe problems to me. With all the money they have, they could have afforded a program or special home teacher for him. It would have been better to try that than just tossing him aside. I'm heartbroken for him but happy he is away from them for his own well-being. If I lived in Ohio, I'd petition the court myself to become his Guardian ad Litem.

Yes I agree with you. I don’t use KZfaq a lot except for documentaries and learning mostly, but this case was so concerning to me that I left comments just to help Huxley and other children who are being exploited. We are not trying to make trouble or troll people at all. They need to pay Huxley and people should not support their videos as we all need to take a stand against exploitation in general but especially with vulnerable children.

I used to follow that family on KZfaq and I was absolutely shocked when I saw their video explaining that they basically un-adopted that little boy. I'm sure they would of never done this to their biological child. I am truly disgusted. I unsubscribed from their channel. No child deserves to be treated that way. I'm glad he's alive. Why did Myka lie (in her crying vid) about re-homing Huxley through an agency, when they are really just doing a private adoption with another family? Private adoptions have less regulation. Home studies can be faked, they don't do criminal background checks and they have no obligation to check on his wellbeing over a certain number of years. The only benefit is for the parent who can offload the kid quicker.

One of my FB group friends shared a post whom is friends with an Individual we will call Tracy whom is a nurse Myka worked with. She is not very active on social media and had no idea that Myka was KZfaq famous until someone found her and wanted to ask her some questions about the incident with Myka. The story is as follows... Tracy and Myka both worked at a nursing home together. Myka has a medication error and the patient died. Apparently gave the wrong medication to a patient with the same first name as another patient. Tracy refused to sign a document stating they had wasted meds to cover Myka’s negligence. That’s when Myka slammed the medication cart into Tracy, whom was 7 months pregnant at the time. Tracy did not lose her nursing license but Myka did. Tracy and Myka both got terminated. They settled with Tracy on wrongful termination. She said it hurt her career and she wishes she would’ve sued Myka but she had a newborn and wanted to move on.
