72 seems to be on the cold side for the summer season. Those A/C systems will be running full time it seems to keep the temp and humidity at those settings. I have to agree with WW, get them gassed up on the extra side while home warranty and parts do their thing. On this unit, I would, as a homeowner, want a complete evap case vs. just a replacement evaporator due to the design on the existing one. It seems very thin and in need of much work to restore its OEM condition. Then I'd want to reroute the exhaust pipe so the evap can be serviced in the future which I'd pay for as the warranty wouldn't likely. Maybe those Elitech gauge hoses need upgraded? You shouldn't have to use a wrench to tighten them to the valve core. Good work WW HVAC !

Hey bro, I think you can unscrew the Schrader in the hose to back it out alittle so it'll read pressures without needed to tighten it with pliers.....I maybe wrong tho...hvac pepoople

She said 10 years old.. if coil is out of warranty i would move forward with a slab coil and transition with a inspection door. ((Unfortunately in means a plentum change out most times)) but i feel more confident standing behind that set up versus just a new box coil..

Question: If the metering device installed is a piston instead of a TXV and you have a wet bulb close to the evapator - is the Super Cooling necessary to check?
