Yea so true ... I feel like most of them is just reading the manuals and learning the manufactures specific issues /codes. Everytime I go to a new one it's pretty much reading a manual for how ever long it takes to find the issue. But ya as long as you understand how they are installed and how to find the error codes they aren't that bad . Only a real problem if it was never installed or serviced correctly Its hard to show up to a call and expect the entire system to be working how it's supposed to . Especially when their in house maintenance says it never worked properly from installation lol

Good video. Just for the future as you will likely see a lot of issues at that job site… In this case. Your error is actually 29-1 29 is the error 1 is saying it’s the master unit. C1 is compressor 1 and the 1 by its self says it happened 1 time. If you have a slave and had an issue on that unit it will read 292 or 29-2. Also the compressor is an inverter driven compressor and runs on AC not DC. The CFMs run on DC. The suction driers are a bad sign. There seems to have been alot of issues there. The suction driers should have been installed with a bypass and after the clean up from the burnout was complete it should have switched to the bypass. That drier should not stay in place and needs to be removed. If you haven’t done so already get the LGMV service tool for the laptop or mobile. I prefer mobile as it is easier to use a phone then computer but to each there own. Good luck and keep up the good work

Very good video. I’m fascinated by those LG units. Got a question for you, was it just a trick of the light or did the black wire going to the compressor look like the insulation had rubbed off in one spot? If it was maybe it was intermittently short to the front cover?

Those M500 supcos are no good. The readings it labels are blatantly wrong. You need a megaohmeter with an actual reading on display. For about the same price as that Supco you can get a Klein ET600. Spot testing never gives a clear indication of poor insulation. A DAR test on windings will give a better idea of how good the insulation is. For further reading: IEEE 43-2000, Megger’s “A Stitch in Time”, Copeland 4-1294 Edit: Fluke also has a good article about IRT for compressors

I do want a megohmmeter that has an actual number reading on display. That Klein ET600 looks legit. What meters would you recommend as maybe good mid-range megohmmeter because some of the prices get ridiculous on the higher end. I need to look into those tests and articles. @@JumpermanTech I’m personally a big fan of Klein’s meters due to giving the absolute best bang for your buck. There’s videos out there showing off how even cheap Chinese meggers are still able to give reasonably accurate readings compared to Fluke’s, but it always goes back to brand confidence. And I love the videos man, I do residential/light commercial so I never see anything as diverse as you do. You’re by far one of the best in the field HVAC/R channels right now. Salute.

That SL drier is best installed vertically you otherwise need to add about 1/2 quart of oil that sits in the bottom of the canister that never returns to the compressor, and with the Hassel of removing that pig, with that beast out of the way, why would you not replace those vibration eliminators that always leak.

Good job Jumper, Yeah, Klein makes a better mega ohm meter or megger old school electricians call them, megger is a name of one of the manufacturers that started making them, but yeah, the Klein gives you digital read out or better reading on resistance values, than just a lighting display, the Fluke mega ohm meter is super expensive, Good job.

I have a Lg hm 123m u 33 type heat pump, error ch29 occurred. So far several experts have looked at it. There was a software update, what could be the problem? Maybe the surface of the spiral snake heat exchanger of the indoor tank is small? the heat pump stops approximately every three days in the evening hours and must be completely disconnected from the power supply, after which it can only be restarted.

Last time I checked transistors on inverter PCBs, Daikin asked for an analog tester to check continuity (Manual ESIE05-03, check 5.9.4)

I'd even recommend to call tech support to confirm everything you found & if there could be any other potential causes for the issue the system is having. The testing documents I used in this video was emailed to me by tech support which is not found in the standard manual. They have all the secrets! Good luck & stay safe out there🔧⚡️

@@JumpermanTech Thank you much appreciated. Very complicated unit the LG Multi V. I had a slave and master unit. One time people were complaining about the temperature. All I had to do was clean the filters. These smart units either work very well or will give you headaches. I wish all calls was that simple lol.

Hello, please tell me the error c1_1 (211), when you restart the chiller, error 22 comes out - what should I do? - so far I have found that 1 compressor for 50 amperes in my 3 phases calls to the ground of the order of 100-150 ohms, I threw it away the inverter board is working (I sin only on the current sensors on the board itself) - but not a fact 😥😥😥😥😥😥

I can imagine this one is gonna be the worst compressor job ever. Man that freaking oil is way too close to where you’re gonna be brazing. Pay attention these units only have strainers so a little carbon will cause you so much headache. Good luck
