If you really need multitool, do not look at the price but look for quality and features. Quality means Leatherman or Victorinox. Features means a) what size: heavy-duty, standard, pocket or keychain; b) what toolset; c) if main tools are accesible when pliers are closed.

Great review! I agree with you the Gerber 600 series at that price point is a work horse that has been put to the test by multiple groups ie the US military. I have a pretty good collection of multitools like Leatherman, Gerber, Victorinox and others. The only problem I have had with Gerber was the turn around time on warranty items. It took months for me. With Leatherman they were great in comparison with the warranty items I sent in. Fast turnaround, great communication and customer service. I don't know, maybe my experience with Gerber's warranty department was unique. Anyway, great review. Happy holidays.

I really like the Leatherman Rev. I think its a very nice basic tool set. It has an awesome can opener, package opener and the bit drivers are nice. The Multiforce is nice, gave it to my best friend, he was really impressed with the bit extension too. The only problem is the can opener leaves metal shaving in the can when opening food, could cause a potential choke hazard if you're not aware of this. I hope this is only limited to the one I gave him and not a mass problem.

Good info about the Multiforce. I hope that was just a lemon. Unfortunately the way prices are going budget may mean something very different in a couple years! Hopefully we won't see a $100 Rev and a $250 Wave!

After looking at a lot of Leathermans, I went with the multiforce. I'm poor. 🤷. What I found was, it has performed these past 6 months flawlessly. Sure, the file could be better, but the build quality is there. The bit driver is great, the knife and saw has seen plenty of work around camp, and the scissors are actually better than most Leathermans. The wire cutters are great, and the pliers haven't failed me yet. All in all I'd say the multiforce is probably a better buy than the low budget Leathermans. Just my observations.

Pretty good list. Some of the complaints I’ve heard were about the plastic pieces on steel tools. When it comes to scissors, it’s still puzzling how an inexpensive, budget tools scissors like the Roxon, blew ‘em all outa the water. But still, all good options for the budget range. 👍🏻

I am amazed as well how a $20 or so Roxon mini multi tool can run circles around a Leatherman. Unfortunately prices have jumped so high the difference between budget and quality is rapidly shrinking.

The Siupro multitool on Amazon (with teal scales on the front) has EXCELLENT scissors and is currently $28. I like the Ozark Trail Multiforce for its 1/4” driver and warranty (I forget how long it is, but I’ve heard you can get replacements at any Walmart). [sorry if this is a double-post, I seemed to get an error the first time]

I really like the design of the Phantom but I had one where the metal was so soft it about twisted the Phillips screwdriver just turning a screw. I hope I just got a bad one. I love the new Roxon M2 and I have a new M3 on the way. After that experience I'm hesitant to recommend the larger Roxon's but I've heard some very positive feedback so I hope mine was just a lemon.

@@hvacbudget8600 Yeah, I haven’t put the interior tools to the task yet. I’m a stagehand, so I’m always reluctant to bring something to work that’s not my Leatherman OHT or Gerber Centerdrive

Hey brother how is it going I just wanted to ask you if your Leatherman bond really did come with a pocket clip?? Let you mentioned because mine did not come with one and I purchased it from Amazon.. please let me know because if it is true I am going to complain to Amazon because it should have come with a pocket clip for the price that it was.. thank you and have a great day

So I checked back at my original video about the Bond and it looks like it didn't come with a clip. I think that was a bit of an issue people had with it when it was released.

@@hvacbudget8600 ohh ok well I am appreciative that you got back to me on that because I was about to send my leatherman Bond back to Amazon and also I was going to talk some crap to them so thank you... and yeah this is a problem it should simply just put on a clip what would it have cost them! And they probably would have sold a lot more of them

Inflation is awful in the sense it makes many things almost unaffordable! Prices have gone crazy!

@@hvacbudget8600 about 4 years ago when I got into this, the Wave plus was about $70 which I thought was wildly expensive (did not buy). I got instead a Wingman which I found a deal on for like $35 because the asking of around $45 I thought was crazy. And before all of that got my Gerber Suspension for $20 which was awesome to me and set the bar for price (I did not know about multi tools). Got the newer Suspension around 4 years ago for about $30 as a gift. How things have changed. Now it makes it not even fun to buy because the prices are crazy and if you do not need them for major work, you can get a no name brand for cheap just to have a tool on hand. I did just buy the other day the Armbar Slim Drive which just suits me for everything I need in a super pocket size. Got a good deal of $26 (well good for these days). For got to mention, got the Center Drive as a gift for family 3 years back and it was $80. That thing is like more than $40 up from that. Wow.

I guess another thing to consider is that the dirt cheap Chinese stuff is probably made by sweat shop children paid 10p a week, just a thought

Leatherman specific bits are so called 2.5D bits, not true 3D bits. They have some lateral width, but this is not full dimension.

The Flissa is a MUCH better tool than the Ozark Trail. The handles are built in such a way that the pliers will handle much more stress than the Ozark Trail.
