Well, I figured out what at least some of the hate for Mitsubishi mini splits is from, and it’s the fact that unqualified ppl are trying to fix them. I just watched a guy mangle a control board by ripping out every connector with pliers not realizing that some have tabs to keep them in place, then, he has the nerve to blame it on Mitsubishi after he damaged it so much that one of the connectors failed to make a good connection after he plugged it back in..thing I like most about Curtis is that he always tries to do a good, thoughtful job, and doesn’t blame anything or anyone else for problems and he even owns up to any minor mistakes…keep up the great work!

The worst part of Fire Sprinkler systems are the ones that have anti-freeze in them. All the sprinkler accidents experience I had in 26 years were not caused by fire. The worst one was caused by a drunk when he put a lighter to a sprinkler head on a third floor. He was arrested and had to pay for damage to 6 apartment units plus all the damage to furniture, sheetrock, and all the subs.

You are the man, that's for sure. I wish you were around my area. Things do happen, it has happened to us all. If it is not worth claiming on your insurance, not the end of the world to change the floor. I remember when I was a teen (long dang time ago) I delivered appliances for a local business. I was too strong for my own good back then, weights and all, so they would send me alone many times to deliver washers, dryers and fridges. Well I delivered a dryer to a lady in a brand new trailer. Dryers are light right? Well I set it almost where it goes, hooked up the vent, wired up the whip, and walked it back in it's spot. I didn't notice right away that the whole time I was walking it around, I was digging the feet into the linoleum floor. Needless to say, they didn't send me alone anymore, I guess the insurance gave them grief about it.

yeah, let the insurance handle it. if you do anything except try to stop the water flow and minimal initial cleanup, they may blame you for more damage or lack of proper repairs. it will be his insurance company and the others butting heads, whom will use other contractors to do the work. they never allow you to do the work yourself, even if your company does that kind of work. pretty much don't futz around and call the insurances in immediately, that way they can get a remediation crew in right away to get it drying out, because everything molds very fast and that just adds to your insurance payout.

Enjoy watching the videos. One thing I have learned from this video is that I will never get a SMART thermostat! No one is going to be able to remotely control my heat or ac.

I feel for you HVAC GUY As an Ex Auto Mechanic I've had to fix many screw ups by other people. Improper install fixes got to be a pain to say the least. Gotta love those back alley techs.

Do you think you could have found any smaller wire nuts ? Have fun trying to check for voltage at them next time, can't get your lead in there. Think about the next guy, it might be you !
