You wouldn't believe what I found in the inlet side of a txv unit is 05 5 ton heatpump trane a white rubber plug from ridged 1/2 " copper . I could I'd send a picture

YIKES! So glad I was lucky and never had to service residential units. Retired now from schools and commercial buildings where I was in control of having well maintained units. Thanks for the videos Curtis!

Went to a house (split AC furnace, attic) that had tripped the breaker. Not only had the jbox wires melted down, but the blower motor was shorted and spitting sparks. Pretty sure bt the smell of that blower that they waft sage religiously... the entire wheel was coated in about 3mm worth of carbon buildup (probably what shorted the motor). They swore they changed their filter 2 weeks before... it was an EZ flow with a ton of crap in it (likely years worth). Their replacement was clearly old, and even felt damp. I never wanted to run from a call more... replaced their blower and wheel (was their super late) and they had the gaul to call in a complaint about how I replaced stuff that didn't need replaced...

Might need to add an ice pick to your tool bag.

It truly amazes me that people can live like pigs and not blink an eye...oh wait...I'm guessing they are renters, and it's not their home...so why care. I don't necessarily blame the landlord. The tennant should report issues to them.

If it's a Landlord that I wanted to take care of I would be installing a "compressor Protector" on that suction line. This will also help to bring the oil back to the compressor from the evap coil. Other wise it will continue to freeze up and you'll be back tomorrow, Rudd/Rheem used to have one with really long wires and made it easy, I don't think they have them anymore, was standard on the commercial package units.

What an ugly set up..imo Beats no heating and cooling tho Also side note i made up a slip connector out of braided hose to suit most faucets and attach it to my 25m/80ft hose… nothing beats thru that ice like a bit of warm water

Ansolutely no excuse except laziness for filters not to be replaced & grills cleaned unless you are too elderly or disabled, then most likely could ask someone to do it for you.
