In this episode of ‘Editorial’, HW News’ Managing Editor Mr. Sujit Nair discusses about the meeting that took place between the Indian cricket team and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi after the Indian team won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Mr. Nair discusses how the Prime Minister likes to associate himself with only the good things that is happening in the country like inaugurating the new parliament of India, Vande Bharat trains etc but tries to distance himself the uncertain incidences that have taken place in India. The Prime Minister wasn’t seen where the recent Hathras stampede took place and which took more than 120 lives. The Prime Minister could’ve visited the site where the hoarding had collapsed in Ghatkoper, where his roadshow had taken place but he chose not to. Mr. Modi was seen inaugurating the Nalanda University in Bihar but the recent bridge collapse didn’t attract his attention in the very same state.

It's high time he realised that ,he is most needed during the time of grievance. Love the way you explain sir. ❤ I was always wonder why our PM does not spoke about bad things happened. finally I have the answer. He is definitely " King of Good Times" but in India we need a PM who is "Friend in Bad Times", need a govt. who provide supports properly in bad times. Good editorial, well laced with striking examples. We looking for a visible leader who is visible in engaging with people rather than taking a picture. We want leaders to see values in every success and failures. We want leaders to be sympathetic and empathetic during accidents involves fatality and not lip service. I’m very sorry to say, we have a petulant and recalcitrant (with regard to the authority of the Constitution) Prime Minister. A person who comes across as a brat who is used to having his own way, a person devoid of empathy and inclusiveness. It is sad considering he is the PM of a country with so much potential. Politicians are heartless opportunists. It is vain to expect anything else from them. Whether it is PM or a politician at the lowest rung. Of course there are exceptions. At least Rahul Gandhi went to Hathras to sympathize with the kins of stampede victims. Earlier he met students regarding the leak of examination question papers.

Very pertinent question. It is the fault of Indians who are brought up on the feudal mentality that the farmers of the past had.
