January 17-21, 2015, my wife and I stayed at the new all-inclusive Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Jamaica. Since the hotel just opened in December (more than a month later than it was supposed to), we were nervous what we were going to find. We'd heard stories of cold hot-tubs, incomplete landscaping, elevators not working and more. Some of those concerns were accurate. Others were not. The resort is improving daily. While we were there, I took typical vacation cell-phone video and assembled it for you - so you can get a first hand look at what you should expect if you're headed there in the next few weeks or months.
Basically, the people are great, the food is really good and the facility will 'eventually' be really great - once they get it done. Don't expect perfection. If it bothers you to see workers landscaping, find somewhere else. But if you can look past that and have a good time (at a reasonable price), then you can enjoy this place. Personally, I'd have a hard time paying $1000/night for this place right now, but in 6-12 months, it might be worth it. Since our trip was free with rewards, we loved it! I hope this helps you make some choices on what to wear and what to expect.
