While Ashur and Jake were out in Wisconsin, Matt and the PNW boys were out taking advantage of the Washington early goose opening weekend. This field was looking very promising on the scout the night before, and we knew we could be in for a great hunt. With the field being such a hard X, we went in there with a plan to keep it very simple and run a small spread of five dozen V2FF Canadas. That plan proved to work great as the first flock of the morning came flipping in, floating 5 yards off the ground, just as we had drawn it up. This continued for the rest of the hunt, and we had our 50 geese in very short order while adding a bonus band and a farm goose hybrid in the 4th quarter! You can't beat starting off the season with a hunt like this!
