That sounds great! And I agree the bubble wrap method can definitely get messy ( although the effect is super cool). I actually found the brush way worked better in the end since the darker layers show through more. Enjoy painting this one again Rizpah!

Such a great “innovative” teacher! Now getting items together & try your methods as brushes needed but cleaning and buying so many when get great results w simple tools love this one but glaze must let bottom stars dry (correct)? Tyvm.

Thanks so much! Yes, the paint layer underneath needs to dry completely before apply any glaze or sealer. Hope that helps, and enjoy the painting!!

Already did the first “distressed” look background using the dabs of white & only 4 lil ones of black & it worked 🤗! Now practicing w the wooden things & glad did it on thick paper as can see either need more paint on stick as mine got a bit strange but Q-tip part works great just re-dip, lighten & repeat!! Ty so much!

Such a well done video. I actually believe I can paint this picture, and I'm going to! I have taken down many of my outdated art prints that aren't my style anymore. This has left me with some gorgeous frames (several matching sets), and hydrangeas are a perfect fit for my home. I'm wondering if you could suggest an affordable type of paint brushes that I could buy to paint this? And, since I won't be using a canvas, what kind of art paper should I purchase? Thanks so much for your help!

So glad to hear about your new project with the hydrangeas, that’s so exciting 😄 👏🏼 In terms of art paper you could definitely use canvas paper ( also called canvas pad) which are thicker papers that have a canvas like texture to them and would frame well since they are a bit thicker. In terms of paint brushes I used an inexpensive set of synthetic brushes from Michaels. The bristles don’t come out as you paint ( like other some other cheaper brushes have) this is the brush set I used for this painting canada.michaels.com/en/large-brown-synthetic-acrylic-brush-combo-by-artists-loft-necessities/10171155.html This is the canvas paper I’ve used in the past: canada.michaels.com/en/strathmore-300-series-canvas-pad/10556076.html

My creative projects have kept me sane as I have a completely suppressed immune system so I am back, isolating at home again. (Due to this Delta Virus that is spreading like a wildfire where we live!) So your videos have been a "life line" for me!!

Just painted some bigger flowers (on wood) & used a deep violet (mixing in lil “Pearl l. violet but they look to dark! Could I use the end of a Q-tip to add highlights as has to flat look? Ty & very cold here so painting harder w heater on! Ty!! Beautiful!!

Just did add a few highlights with more twisted to point Q-tip on the darker ones & love using them now! Ty as knew could use them but you have taken that art to beautiful & believe if practice (many times looks better & easier than cleaning & buying so many brushes) & have lots just don’t use!
