Looking at the different types hydrangeas and other shrubs that are blooming in the Eastside Garden. The hydrangeas in bloom are macrophylla, smooth, and mountain. Other shrubs are daylilies, oxalis, verbena, and hellebores.

Love the different assortment of colors! The little Japanese umbrella pine is too cute!! Neat idea with the moss. Hopefully, it thrives! 😊

The Summer Crush by Endless Summer Hydrangea is beautiful in the garden annex. It is not as red as it used to be, but I still love the mix of reds and purples.

No, I plant in the soil and then I mulch them. The mulch keeps the plant roots cool and prevent rapid evaporation of water. It also suppress weeds.

My potted bloomstruck bloom are quickly turning pale green and brownish. It’s in my north side GA with plenty of shade and water every 2-3 days. Do you have any tips to keep the bloom color? Thanks

To keep it blue use hydrangeas acidifier and to keep it red use hydrangeas lime.
