Although I was looking on how to dismantle the valve, your video helped my figure it out from assembly. Thanks!

Hi I love your videos very informative but I have a problem. I have a gray market half ton Kubota excavator which When I went to clean the control block I took out the spool valves and didn't mark their locations. You cannot get any information or manuals for this unit so I was wondering how I can tell where these valves belong. Thanks in advance. It's a Kubota k005

I had my hydraulic valve re sealed on my john deere 6675 skid loader. I added hydraulic fluid and did not bleed after starting I tried forcing the up on the bucket to work because it was hard after forcing the pedal it made a loud bang noise and blew the fill cap off on the hydraulic tank. What did I break or destroy?

My spools get stuck I smoothened them they worked for some days then it got stuck again
@perry94922 жыл бұрын
So are the spools only sealed by a film of oil or is there an o-ring inside the valve body to prevent leaks to the outside?
@flinch6222 жыл бұрын
Yes and yes: its a design variable tailored to system fluid, pressure, and cost/repairability. Air controls, for example, are typically o-ring design because air brings moisture and with that corrosion over time Going without o-rings means bores are machined to aerospace tightness. Any erosion/things going egg shaped would be a show stopper. An old body can be saved, but bores need to be sleeved and honed fpr the spool being served.

Generally, people get into valve bodies because of lost control: something either isn't happening, or won't stop. Very important to check for trash first, then measure. Spools usually tell the story.

My hitachi 5ton excavator it swings only 1 side and sometimes at all.we replace new pump and now mechanic thinks is the main valve control.something stuck In there.what do you think

@@mihalispantelis4909 Before digging into valves... the easy stuff: hoses. Swap if possible, and if problem follows, it is failing internally. [its not a bad idea to change hoses every five years by the way]. A loss of return behaves like a block - regardless of pump pressure. It is also possible trash in a cylinder is behaving like a check valve near the fitting. A chowdered o-ring for example can travel and wind up in places you might not expect. I don't know your machine, but I do suspect a valve problem - something allowing pressures to equalize across two functions, which would mean no movement even if pressure is good. I assume system has a regulator that is allowing proper volume to pass - I have seen cartridge style regulators fool people where pressures look good, but just a little speck of something interfered with operation and movement would just crawl in slow motion because volume wasn't being delivered.

Are we just going to ignore the fact that according to his precision measurements the spools are too big to fit in the bores lol.

So I’ve got a leak at the spring cover cap it’s not a bad leak but I want to fix it anyone know if it’s a seal or something
@SavageTech3 жыл бұрын
did you figure it out???
@johnbrown15683 жыл бұрын
Yes I did there’s little O-rings that slide in there with a little dust cover that goes over it. After I took it apart I could see it.

Same here. So it's just a seal. I'd say on both ends, too.

@@rcdogmanduh4440 caliper has a least count of 20 micron instead digital micrometer has 01 micron .Spool valve OUTER DIAMETER has a tolerance of +_ 3 micron . Then how you check?

I'm sure this guy is a really nice person, but he shouldn't be sharing his very incorrect information with the world. The clearance between the spool and the spool bore of a hydraulic control valve is concerably less than 0.001" Even the most basic directional control valve has between 0.0001" and 0.0003". (That's from 3 to 8 μm for the metric minded). The tool this guy is using is has a resolution of 0.0005" (13μm). But, its accuracy is 0.001" (25.4μm). The tool is 3x less accurate to evaluate this assembly. Also, a partical of .00016" (4μm) that gets into the closed assembly will cause at least minor damage to it. His attention to cleanliness is horrible and it's really difficult to remove small particles once the get into the valve body. They get trapped in the corners and are incredibly difficult to flush out. Overall, I give him an F- for his skills in hydraulics. However
