I think no stirring should be done in between the sedimentation process. Rest everything was right. Also no soil mass should stay in vessel containing it. So use of distilled water to transfer the entire soil mass should be there.

How to tabulate the readings? After 30 sec, 1 min, 2 min... How to record reading from stem of hydrometer? After each succession of readings 30sec, 1 min, 2 min...we have to keep hydrometer in distilled water jar how to record reading from distilled water jar? At end it is being told to keep hydrometer in suspension of sodium hexametaphospate which is diluted to 1000 ml of distilled water, do we have to keep simultaneously inside this suspension for miniscus correction? Please show for one particular reading.... For ex for 30 sec, 1 min, 2 min... How to record from soil suspension, distilled water and suspension of sodium hexa metaphosphate!! How to tabulate in table, how to finally evaluate grain size!!! This gives clear picture about recording readings, otherwise it's jus an explanation without clear picture on how to record, apply correction, subsequent evaluation and to end up wid grain size!!
