After much research I went with Hydrow earlier in the year. I have been loving it so far. The Concept 2 was too loud for my space and I was also interested in the Ergatta. The Aviron looks cool and cannot wait for the review. One thing about Hydrow is they also send free gifts when achieving milestones (hats, socks, water bottles, shirts). They also give badges and send stickers when signing up for challenges announced on their blog. They did some stuff with the Olympic teams and recently for the Head of the Charles race. Software updates are consistent and new features and content types are being added/experimented with too. The price points are similar but one should choose based on content preference and whatever the best deal is on.

So glad to hear you are happy with your choice! Also, nice to hear about all of all these things they do. These products are meant to keep improving and I am glad to hear updates are frequent. I agree that content preference should be your number one focus. All of these rowers are so nice, that content is the thing that separates them most. Have a good one!

I got the Hydrow and the machine is a beautiful thing. I did 100k meters in less than a month but I got bored with the classes way too fast and I returned. I just ordered an Ergatta and I am excited to try the gaming thing

I just got my Ergatta. I love the software and the whole experience… super motivating and the racing thing makes you work as hard as you can. So cool! Now… the footpads are too close to each other and that squeezes my private parts. The seat is not as comfortable as the other rowing machines that I tried before. My personal opinion… The Hydrow hardware is 100x better/more comfortable, but the Ergatta software way better. I can’t wait for you Aviron review!

I really didn't know if I would like these rowers, but they have really surprised me and I enjoy using them! Glad to know if you ever decide to get one, you know which direction to head! Have a good one!

It's a great rower and the videos are very professional with awesome athletes. Quick FYI, the HR monitor needs to be ANT+ compatible.

I love the design of the Hydrow. But for me I think the gaming aspect will make exercise more fun. If only Hyrdow would add gaming (after all its just a software update) then I would pick this over Ergatta and Aviron.

If you feel like you are taking a step backwards by going with the Aviron or Ergatta, I would not. All 3 of them are amazing rowers and very high quality. Really a matter of finding the user interface and content you prefer.

You mentioned a review for Aviron rower and haven't seen it yet. Would like to know how they compare with build quality, feel of row, etc.... Aviron does have many scenic rows. Variety, can use without subscription, and can use youtube and see other free rowing videos for free.

Final question Travis--apologies for the analysis paralysis here. If one wants to get that Pro up the stairs in a house or townhouse, i imagine you need clearance. Can the legs be removed to make it easier to angle around tight landings/stairwells? have a good weekend and apologies again for the multiple questions. Best! Don

Sorry for the delay. KZfaq was having problems with comments and it would not let me reply. Unfortunately, while we are going through a house renovation, my Hydrow is tucked away so I can't look well. I think the legs near the front can be removed with two bolts. The legs near the rear... I am no so sure.

It was hard, but i ended up going with the smaller Wave because i was concerned about the size even though I REALLY wanted the larger screen. The good news is i have 30 days to try it if i decide i want the the larger Pro. I'll assemble the Wave today/this weekend and will let you know how the experience is. have a good weekend--and thank you again. Don

I have a question. If I don’t want to get subscription on Hydrow what is accessible on the screen without subscription? Also are you familiar with the brand BodyCraft, is that a good brand? I do like the resistance on VR 500

Sorry, I have only used the Hydrow with subscription so far so I am not sure. I have not used the BodyCraft either. Wish I could be more of a help.

I do! I don’t use it as much as most people because my time I usually goes to whatever I am testing but it works great and feels built to last.

Hi Travis--how difficult is it to clear this through doorways in rooms? I measured my bedroom door and it seems like its just at the 26.5inch width, which is the Hydro's width. Can you tilt it to get it through doors? thank you again!!!

A quick Google says it is 25 inches wide so it will be tight but manageable. It is not too hard to get through doorways. The tricky part can be turning it if you are also next to a wall or have things in the way as it is longer when you lean it back to move it. As long as you have enough open space to maneuver, should be able to do it. Just move slow! :)

I notice no one else has said the price etc in comments. it starts at 2K. the heart rate monitor is £80, wall mounting strap is £70 you can get off rower mat exercise equipment is £150. why is it £38 month they have far less in class numbers. its larger than a peloton. if you have both you are spending £39 and £38 = £77 a month It may look nice but you really have to be rich afford spending that much money on a rower.

The monthly fee is far cheaper than any sort of gym membership or routine rowing class, especially if you have multiple people using it in a household. If you split the rower upfront cost down monthly for 5 years that total cost is STILL lower than most gym memberships and routine rowing classes. I think having a rower makes way more sense than having a peloton (bike or treadmill). You can buy a used bike for $10 and ride anywhere in the world. How many people can actually row outdoors?

Rower versus rower I think they are equal. Both work perfectly and it is very hard to find anything to fault. For me, I would pick the Ergatta simply for the gaming aspect. I have thoroughly enjoyed that style of exercise.
