When Elisha A. Hoffman penned this song back in 1878. I am imagining how he was trying to put tune to this timeless hymn. I wish he could hear this Accapella version in 2023. I love this!!! Christian music here in the US has turned into so called Christian Rock or "worship" songs which is nothing like this or what praising HIM was meant to be. These timeless songs you all sing..tell a story. It preaches as well as convicts...unlike the aforementioned music which just puts one in an emotional hype! Ty again for the post!
