Hi I was a little girl when we sang these hymns my late mom loved the hymns now I am 77 just to hear these songs blesses me thank you for the lovely song God BLESS you and your dad lots of love

My prayer is that the church will go back to singing hymns. The reason why I say this is because they are so full of meaning and hope which we need in these troublesome times.

As I face a most difficult trial in my life I am listening and weepong and praying for Peace in the storm ....

What an amazing video! Brian, I have played your music as a worship leader since the mid 1990's. Thank you for your commitment to encourage worshippers of all ages. This video touched me as I have steadily become dissolusioned with some of the new music of the church in the past few years. It's interesting how things seem to come full circle. How the old songs are becoming new again! I was so blessed to see you sing with your dad! My dad wasn't an example to me as yours was to you. But I can say with great joy, my dad received Christ in the last year of his life, 18 yeara ago this November! God bless you brother! Thank you and thanks be to God for you!

I was blessed by the story and I am happy you shared, BUT, as soon as I heard the first few notes of What a Friend we Have in Jesus, I hit the subscribe button quickly. What beautiful melody! I grew up listening to hymns every day and dad had morning and evening worship EVERY DAY, no matter what was happening or how sick he was, and we sang several hymns each time. As an adult, hymns are my absolute favorite and I would just break out into singing hymns. My husband also just break out into singing hymns so we listen to, and sing a lot of hymns. There are some good gospel songs but that soul-touch you get from hymns can’t be gotten anywhere else. I love the stories, and I love that you could share your dad’s beautiful voice with us. Your duet gave me goosebumps! I wish I could hear my dad’s beautiful tenor voice again… heaven will be wonderful! Thanks for sharing this blessing of these beautiful hymns. HAHA! YES! "Dead hymns!" Exactly what I was thinking at 16. "Why aren't we singing cool songs like 'Put Your Hand in the Hand of the Man?' " Then I started attending a church where they sang a lot of chorus type songs. I appreciate those, too--some of them--but there's nothing like the old hymns. When I was a young kid, we had to sit still in church, very still; and it was so 'boring.' Sometimes I would pick up a hymnbook and read, and think, "How do they rhyme these words like this? It tells a very in-depth story, plus they rhyme the words." Hymn lyrics are profound.
