Correction: There is no longer version of the Shrek animation test, the test itself was based on the opening scene from very early drafts of the film. The recreation from 2017 is using storyboards from the film itself. My theory is that they were originally planning to animate the full opening, but then decided to shorted it to 40 seconds. As for what Gibbs said, he's probably referring to the fact that the upload was missing 2 seconds from it.

Eh, gibbs mentioned in his first reply to his tweet "The test shown here is part of a longer test. If memory serves it was most like 2-3 minutes long. They only did this one test before it was cancelled." ('it' being this early version of Shrek) Still worth keeping a look out for a longer version imo.

Hey! Yo Gabba Guru here! One of my friends actually watched the "first upload" of Show #2. Turns out, it was simply a reupload of the first, which is why it wasn't saved. Also I think Boban mentioned it was on a DVD only given out to who worked on the pilots, maybe even was used at the premiere. As the credits actually feature credits for both episodes. He also mentioned that he also had the first in the same quality. (As mentioned probably the same video file if the credits mean anything). The Art Director, Parker Jacobs has said there might be a DVD out there that has both, but mine and others only have the first, so he might be talking about the exclusive one given to Boban and others.

A note about the Shrek animation is that it was a test for an entirely different style of animation for the film, with 3D characters being overlaid onto physical models. Also, according to sources online, the idea to scrap that style actually happened in May 1997 after a failed demonstration of a test animation. So unless they finished this in 1996 and decided to sit on it for months before showing it to executives (or someone's got the years mixed up, and either this was finished in '97 or it was presented in '96), it does look like there might be a second test animation out there somewhere. Overall, I think the early Shrek design had some charm, but man I just can't get past how UGLY that mouth looks. Definitely think the final version is an improvement.

Can't deny, this year has had a pretty large quantity of finds; I think my highlights for this year are the N64 LodgeNet roms, The Humpback Hop, the unaired pilots for Star vs. The Forces of Evil and Wander Over Yonder, the other unreleased Disney TVA pilots that were found this year (The Thunderbeards, Shred Force, Dog & Frog, and "Title"), the Shrek test footage, the theatrical versions of the Animaniacs short "I'm Mad", the Hey Arnold pilot and The Pink Panther TV episode "Driving Mr. Pink", Blue Prints, the Rework build of Pizza Tower, the E3 build of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the Eclipse tech demo that was pitched to Nintendo (the predecessor of Lunar Chase), Pickles, the Gibby pilot, and as someone who's never heard of His Honor, Homer Bell before, I will admit the one episode so far that's been found was pretty alright. I can say that the quantity of finds this year has stacked up to a good quality, though I still say it would be hard to top finding a completely unreleased feature film, like 2022's uncovering of Popeye

Actually there is no final version of the pilot. Angela actually released the pilot only on tape and had the teachers helping the children on where to look for the paw prints, finding the colors and shapes. So I don't think that Nick has the pilot with the rest of the voices. Dave has confirmed it himself. the pilot was made for a test. They didn't bother getting more actors until the final show.

I have a feeling I might have had a hand in getting the Tickle U recordings out; considering on the Lost Media wiki, I made a page for the US dub of Little Robots, one of the shows that aired on Tickle U.

Some people did like the movie Re-Animated and Out of Jimmy's Head, I remember talking to my classmates about it in high school and we all enjoyed it.

I remember watching out of jimmy's head back when i was a kid (i am from Romania). I really liked it back then and for a long time I couldn't remember the show's name until I watched your video bringing it up

I'm not surprised in the slightest about what the mysterious Spongebob PSP Ad turned out to be. Viacom-affiliated channels in Germany did stuff like this all the time.

At 11:17 technically Sam and Cat wasn’t pitched at the same time as Gibby but a show that was just about Sam that got reworked into Sam and Cat
@gabbyhaynes53947 ай бұрын
I think the timeline was like: -Sam and Gibby Pilots get script pitching -Gibby Pilot is greenlit, Sam Pilot gets retooled because Nickelodeon wants to keep Ariana Grande but Victorious ratings are declining. -Gibby Pilot is rejected, Sam and Cat either was filmed simultaneously to it or shortly after.

My own personal lost media I have found 1 of my favorite things is Hamtaro Cartoon Network airings last year I didn’t find any but this year I found 3 new ones which makes me happy
@MaddoxEzman7 ай бұрын
As someone who loves Hamtaro, i wanted to ask how many are lost? I only ever watched it on tapes that advertised it showing on Cartoon Network. I figured it always aired there it was only very recently I found out it wasn’t on CN the entire time.
@gabbyhaynes53947 ай бұрын
I forget if the Hamtaro website from years ago is archived. I think it ran on flash but I remember one day I visited and the graphics got messed up cause the new computer was faster than the website anticipated

The Blue Prints pilot for blue's clues is still my new favorite, i hope the other pieces of Blue's Clues lost media gets found someday too, including The 2001 version of "Joe Gets A Clue"-(Season 4 Episode 23), The "Las Pistas De Azul" Pilot-(which later became "Las Pistas De Blue" in the final version) And The Blue's Clues UK Pilot featuring Kevin Duala.

im kinda curious, whats the 2001 joe gets a clue version about?? does it have a wiki page?
@BrandisTheBluesCluesExplorer7 ай бұрын
@@patchiiima it's the one where Joe aka Donovan Patton is in his Cristopher Walken clothes, and Steve has his iconic green striped shirt un tuck. which was way before the 3 parted special "Meet Joe" and way before he started wear the iconic square shirts, and that can also be seen in the 10th anniversary documentary of Blue's Clues too.

I would HOPE the Out of Jimmy's head attention isn't because there were actually people who liked that crime against humanity, but just people who respect all forms of artistic media as valid (which they are) and wanted it at least to be preserved for and not "lost forever"
