Welcome to the first video in a series covering the mechanics of Hyper DBZ. This is a free, fanmade DBZ game built in the M.U.G.E.N. engine with development spearheaded by Cybaster, Balthazar, Iced, Daeron, XGargoyle, and many more.
The game can at first be confusing to beginners because of its lack of a tutorial, a proper training mode, or command lists, all a consequence of the limitations of M.U.G.E.N.
Well, I'm here to help you out on your journey to learning this game and all of its beautifully thought out mechanics! Today we start with the super basics; how to grab your opponent, how to charge your ki, how to activate your EX meter, and so on.

From what I remember, as you're being attacked you press forward and then any two attack buttons. I need to remake this video, it's lacking a lot of important info.

Kaioken Install is QCB QCB Punch. There are three levels, lvl 2 is two punches, level 3 is all three punches, each level requires more ki but drains less health and lasts longer.

Kaioken is only on Base Goku

How to block attacks?

Hold back on the directional pad or the analog stick while you're being attacked, you can either do a standing block or if you crouch you can block low attacks. It takes a little practice to get used to but it's the same thing as if you were playing something like Street Fighter. If you're being zoned you can also do an unblockable attack to get out of a combo by blocking, pressing forward, and then rapidly hitting two attack buttons twice in a row. I need to update this video to show how to do that

@davidff6708 Are you using a controller? If so it'll still be the same in an emulator. Both medium attack buttons. I'm not sure what the default keys are on PC since I always play on pad but I can look into it at some point if you'd like.
