Not even kidding, this voice actually suits Sonic (classic more I think) really well. Like so well I wouldn't mind if classic sonic spoke in the future if this was his voice. It sounds accurate, it's young, but full of Sonic's attitude and energy, and it makes it sound as though he is personally singing this song, glad to be back on his feet, and gives the lyrics a emotional vibe. I love this song even more now, amazing job!

when I first listened to this song, I was a freshman in high school. I was going through a rough transition. I was extremely lonely at first. I talked to only one particular new friend at the time. When I listened to this song...I remember thinking about my 8th grade friends I left behind. However....over the years as I tried to reconnect with my middle school friends I realized how awful they truly were to me. They treated me differently. Made fun of me for liking sonic, spider-man, all that stuff. I thought they were just teasing me but it was bullying. Quite frankly I only considered them my best friends cuz there were no other people in middle school for me to turn to. All these years later, the person I think about most now when I listen to this song is that one friend I made in freshman year. He treated me normally. He didn't make fun of the fact I liked sonic. He was okay that I was quite. He showed me real friendship I haven't experienced in years as a kid. I know you probably just created these lyrics to fit into sonic mania's tone but genuinely, they're beautiful. Its a little cheesy yeah, but being cheesy is being vulnerable. And being comfortable enough to be vulnerable is beautiful. I hope one day I can become a future storyteller. Write about movies, books, games and of course, songs that inspired me. This is one of them. Thanks for giving me a lot of mania.

i treasure this kind of thing so much; this was sweet of you beyond words. after all these years, you might've had the right hunch... despite being a lifelong sonic maniac, i never actually wrote mania about the game or even about sonic at all; it's always been a very personal song about sheer vulnerability, and chasing what you love in spite of that, despite the odds. i'm glad i made it so personal, because it seems to do so many different things for so many different "personals"... and it means more than i could ever put to words when people like you tell me what mania has meant to you over time. that's why i do this, that's why i'm still here, and that's why i'm still checking every single one of these six years later. thank you for this. 💛

I'm almost a year late in discovering this gem. Frankly I should be ashamed of myself. I admit that I had been skeptic about the idea of vocals for the Sonic Mania themes, as it is very difficult to improve upon perfection. But you not only succeeded in doing just that, your work painted a smile onto my face, and it still hasn't gone away! Instant favorite, like, and subscription from me. :D

This came on my TV unknowingly around 5 - 6 years ago when i had KZfaq on, and for the longest time i remember this being a cover of Sonic Mania's trailer theme. But for the life of me not remembering what it was called, then an AMV that featured this song appeared in GamesCage's "Sonic AMV Contest" (The AMV is REALLY good btw), and i discovered this song again and i thought it was amazing. And not untill yesterday is when i discovered the original upload again, and it's still as good as always!

Hey Skye, those vocals work with that song so well. The first five seconds of the first vocal segment was a sub.I also like how it's referencing 25 years of Sonic, and it's a great cover overall. I had this on repeat literally since the first time I heard it today. Deserves to be #1 on trending.

Woah guys, cool your jets. I am not a Sonic Team hater. I love Modern Sonic! Unfortunately, the Sonic Team we're stuck with today really don't seem to understand what the franchise was built on, and haven't given many good reasons to believe otherwise. I am a very hopeful fan, but after seeing recent footage of Forces and interviews with Iizuka, it looks like we'll be continuing down this route of so-so Modern games. No need to freak out. Let's all act mature here.
