@@swittzle1 If you're still having this problem you need to delete the DarkflameServer folder and reinstall it. Make sure to run this command before cloning the client: sudo apt-get install -y git gcc cmake build-essential zlib1g-dev mariadb-server python3 python3-pip sqlite3 net-tools unzip. It worked for me.

Oh nevermind, after a restart of the client it works now :)

It is not available for MacOS, sorry. You will need to install Windows on Bootcamp. If you are using Bootcamp, follow my other Lego Universe guide (Oracle).

Right click the res folder and open properties, then go to security. You should be able to find your user account in there and change the permissions from read only to read and write.

Try running this command first: sudo service mysql start

If you're referring to your clients folder, you might be using the packed client. You need to find a download for the *unpacked* client, that will contain all the files you need.

That means you don't have the unpacked client. Keep looking for one that specifies unpacked or ask around to see if anyone can help with LCDR's unpacking tool!

If it's not turned on, then it does not use any memory. It'll function like any typical program on Windows

You can't install the server or play the game with Mac. There's a launcher for the game on Mac but it isn't supported nor is it recommended. If you want to set up a server with your Mac you'll need to use my VPS guide which you can watch here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aN5heql1upellps.html

Hey there, the developers recently updated the requirements and it adds an extra step that you need to do. It isn't your fault! If you have not resolved it, please join my Discord as I have the solution there until I am able to add it to the website.

Recent versions of Darkflame Server (as far back as late March) now require a new configuration to the MySQL database to fix an issue regarding claiming a block yard in the game. Thankfully, this is easily fixed with one command (thanks to Brian for sharing!) that you can input in the terminal anywhere, provided the server is not currently running. Simply copy the command below, run it, enter your password (the one used in the server's .ini files), and you will be all set! WSL: mysql -u root -D dlu -p < ~/DarkflameServer/migrations/dlu/3_add_performance_cost.sql

You should be running the LU client from the desktop folder. There shouldn't be any .exe files in the DarkflameServer folder. If you need more help, come check out my Discord

Does your Windows username have a space in it? If it does, it's reading that space as a new argument instead of just one. You can try moving the Lego Universe folder to a different place that has no spaces and try it again

Run this in command prompt to erase the current VM and then you can start over for this guide: wsl --terminate Ubuntu

I guess it could be possible but it would not be an easy path to write out. Its best to put it somewhere within the hard drive that is easy to find

Put a "/" in front of each "mnt", no quotes. The problem now is that the cdclient.fdb file doesn't seem to exist?

You may have made one or both of the letters in DarkflameServer lowercase on accident when downloading it. Type this command and see if you can see the folder name (it is a lowercase L): ls

1909 should be above 19041. Were you able to try installing WSL?

Ben Buch I fixed it had that problem for two days. Not sure what I did different but I switched to NinjaOfLU’s tutorial and his worked

@Ben Buch Fixed it. When you enter the database info in the 4 config files along with your IP, you must insert the password you gave in the MariaDB step, not the initial Unix setup. I had the Unix one in there first and got that error, then edited the configs again to include the MariaDB password and I got through! Hope that helped!

It sounds like you downloaded the packed client. I made that same mistake my first time. Go search up the client again and look for the unpacked client

The server install. There is no installation for the game, you just need to download it. You can't play the game without the server.

This will work for LAN

I have another guide, the Oracle VPS guide, that will work best on a Mac. You will have to set up a Windows virtual machine on your Mac using Bootcamp, and play the game through there.

@@bapanada I somehow fixed by redoing some of the steps in the beginning and checking if I had the right IP address with the command in the video

Make sure you have Python installed, if that is the part you are referring to.

Did Elocore address the issues (I didn't watch the whole video)? Honestly, I don't know the issues and I haven't heard about big issues with WSL. It works great for me and seems to be working for other people. I can pin it in a comment if its something that can be easily explained. What is the downside of WSL?

The alternatives are an hour lol. There isn't a one click and you're off to the races. This is as easy as it gets because you need zero knowledge of Linux if you follow it. I wish I could do better but it's not possible

One or more of the four ini files (authconfig, worldconfig, etc) has the wrong database name in the file. It seems like you typed "a" instead of the name of the database

@@HyperStudios i re-installed all of it and now its working. Thanks for the Video and responding so fast after months after uploading this video. do you know why the Avant Garden mini game / arena isnt loading? Error in Ubuntu is " [Behavior] Failed to load behavior with id (0)!". No enemys are spawning and no timer or wave is showing up. Thanks
