Fun fact: Ian Flynn actually DID plan to have Super Sonic 2 and Cyber Sonic (the glitchy form) instead just be replaced as one big moment with Hyper Sonic, but SEGA shot down the idea.

What would've happened if Ian Flynn snuck in Hyper Sonic behind Sega's back? And then Sega realized it too late after release date? How'd history have played out for Sega and Sonic? And how'd players everywhere have liked that? Imagine living in that reality.

@@tlst94 Well for starters it probably would've had everyone screaming gagging and fainting from sheer hype. SEGA would likely fire Flynn and/or have it removed in a patch update, which would lead to a SEVERE outrage. It would also change up the lore so that Cyber Energy + Chaos Emeralds would be equivalent to Super Emeralds. So there would be some ups and downs. But generally, fans would love it.

My favorite form of the series. Well, Frontiers made it canon that the Chaos Emeralds are not from Earth. They apparently come from some off planet with those Chaos- like beings introduced in Frontiers right? Maybe the next game can get Knuckles and the Master Emerald reintroduced in thr next title.

Honestly, the idea of the Master Emerald being able to power up the chaos emeralds just makes sense and is such a neat idea they could play around with. Ik they say they scrapped it after S3&K bc of the rainbow effect hurting people's eyes, but they could just make him white or platinum. Or make the effect not as fast instead of just giving up. The idea of Hyper Sonic facing The End is an amazing idea I wish they went with.

It is though. No hate or anything but it is. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a tribute even, to the Super Saiyan. But from what I understand, SEGA doesn’t want to bring back Hyper Sonic bc they want to give importance to Super Sonic and for that transformation to no be obsolete after a new one comes out and so on. Kind like in Dragon Ball. Super Saiyan is irrelevant after having those God transformations.

They should just bite the bullet and bring Hyper Sonic back, it doesn't have to be canonical to the story, just add it in as an extra feature. Like say for a future game Hyper Sonic is the new game+ variant of Super Sonic and is far stronger and can breathe underwater.

Sonic with the chaos emeralds can create portals to different zones, Sega just uses that as an excuse not to bring back hyper Sonic but for whatever reason eludes us
