Hyperadrenergic POTS is defined by heightened plasma norepinephrine levels (the sympathetic nervous system neurotransmitter) exceeding 600 pg/mL, accompanied by a systolic blood pressure elevation of more than 10 mmHg after standing for 10 minutes. This condition signifies an excessive activation of the sympathetic nervous system.
POTS patients are often misdiagnosed as having anxiety or panic disorder but their symptoms are real and can severely limit a person's ability to function.

I have MCAS, hyperadrenergic POTS, and hEDS. They put me on propranolol and it’s really helping so far with the fight or flight and my heart rate.

I have hyperadrenergic POTS. My neurologist at the Mayo Clinic put me on Propranolol and it has changed my life!
