It's the drag race you never knew you wanted to see. A member of the holy trinity - the McLaren P1 drag racing the race car version of itself, the P1 GTR. The P1 then goes up against the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N to see how these two hypercars compare to a road car!

100-200km/h of 7.04 seconds for the P1, finishing the 1/4 mile at 205km/h (127mph). 100-200km/h of 4.31 seconds for the P1 GTR, finishing the 1/4 mile at 240km/h (149mph). Looking at the stats, it does show there could’ve been an issue with the P1. Yes the P1 GTR should be quicker but that was bus lengths. The difference in trap speeds is also quite huge, one of 22mph (35km/h). I’d expect (estimated guess) a difference of about 7-12mph max in the 1/4 mile. Still though, awesome to watch?

p1 gtr is on wet tyres, so could go faster on prepped track. alot of gravel on that road.

Standard P1 traps 150 mph in quarter mile Randy's McLaren P1 did 10.1 sec @149 mph with two people in the car 60-130 mph 4.9 seconds verified by DRAGY Motortrend tested 9.8 sec @150 mph That is on non prepped surface

@@GhostofZuuzGaming Yup, both could go faster. The P1 more so than the P1 GTR. Though I still do believe the P1 GTR is a lot quicker than the P1, but not by as much as shown in the video.

@@Chris-hw4mq Dragtimes brooks managed 10.1 sec @149 mph on a dusty street surface as well with a extra passanger that's on first ever try on cold tires as well This McLaren P1 can do much better more like 9.8 seconds @150 mph quarter mile with warm tires and a good surface On drag strip or Prepped surface this McLaren P1 can actually do 9.2,9.3 seconds quarter mile @152 mph Just like the 765LT does Actually P1 is faster than 765LT

Alborz won because he let the car shift itself. Paul was paddle shifting it manually which is always going to be slower Vs letting the car row its own gears.

Also the race versions tend to have much more downforce and are generally slower in 0-100 race. They will destroy the street versions on the track though.

Never clicked on a video so fast! I know people say this all the time but the LaFerrari and P1, and their track versions, are just some of my dream cars. All high on the list. And I’ve always wanted to see a race between them. Awesome video!

Just to put it in perspective. That McLaren ran just over 240kmph. That's 150mph. That's enough speed to run an 8 second pass over the 1/4 mile

I do not care if the Hyundai would beat a top fuel dragster. I would not want it anyway. It is a oversized suv, that hardly can corner (I know it does good laptimes on some tracks, but it is cause of the acceleration, not the cornering abilities)
