In the original Neptunia, Planeptune's goddess is only known to the people as Purple Heart - and they only have a vague impression of her. The people have never seen, and thus have no idea of Neptune. Planeptune, unlike the other landmasses, flourished pretty much independently of it's goddess. Also keep in mind that Nepgear nor the other imoutos do not exist in this Hyperdimension. IF is a Planeptune native who doesn't worship Purple Heart because of her distance form the people, whereas Vert and Noire are very active and so is Blanc to some extent. IF secretly worships Lady Green Heart because she feels Vert is closest to the people and Leanbox prosperity has the most to do with her guidance vs the other nations. It's respect. In Re;Birth 1, it was twisted a bit into a lesbian obsession on Vert's end for lulz.

A way to look at it is that, Leanbox has a goddess who rules like a king, and is guided by Vert, who has a direct influence on society's growth and welfare. Lastation has a Market Economy, an economy that has a prevelant free market, that is loosely regulated by Noire. The market economy is also dominating the social aspect of Lastation, as the country is going through an industrial revolution. Lowee is more of a Senate based government, where the basilicom does most of the work, while Blanc does very little to influence her country and only does the bare minimum for her position, fight monsters, offer protection to people, and be a figure head. Planeptune has a very Democratic government in a sense, where the Basilicom is the ruling body with the people deciding what the rules are and are given full autonomy for their actions under basic set rules and a single religion, worshiping Neptune for protection. Since they have never met Neptune, they see her as more of a person to worship but never to really rely on for anything more than divine protection from monsters, as Neptune' s presence alone wards off most monsters.

@@SatoshiMatrix1 Honestly it's pretty interesting hearing this side. Personally I find the If/Vert Ship adorable and kinda sad it hasn't appeared elsewhere from what I can tell.

I highly agree. Re;Birth 1 is a refined version of the original game that is a lot more fun to play (no more random battles, no more loading, no more slooooooow battle system, etc) but it's narrative is also abridged, with as much as 60% of the original game's cutscenes removed. Granted, Re;Birth 1 does add new scenes and characters, but to truly experience the story, you need to turn to the original. That's why I made this video playlist series. You can see all the original game has to offer with superior bgm and none of the jank.

Thats so weird. Since the original was a standalone with a fully story that can stand on its own feet, the rebirth1 should have been also.

In the original game, it's left ambiguous. In Re;Birth 1, IF is from Planeptune but believes in Lady Green Heart.

I encourage you to watch the entire playlist if you're interested in this kind of thing. The original Neptunia experimented greatly with integrating politics and religious persecution into it's plot of mostly lazy moe waifu goddesses, which was cut almost completely from Re;Birth 1. The result is a game that is inferior to Re;Birth 1 when it comes to the gameplay, but superior in many respects in terms of its story. Some parts of Re;Birth 1's story are better, but many elements of the original are head and sholders beyond what its remake tries. Don't get me wrong, Re;Birth 1 is still the better of the two overall, but it doesn't simply replace the original.

@@SatoshiMatrix1 yeah, this game has yet so see a proper successor in terms of story - mainly because they seemingly abandoned this style for the later titles. Here's hoping the reason for this isn't that they got scared off by the bad reception of this game, because I feel like they could do some amazing advancements with their storytelling if they were to combine this with what they've learned from all the other Neptunia games. Watching this *does* make me very happy that they upgraded the character art, though. I mean, did the templates used for this game even have a smiling version? Compa may have more pep in her voice than the others here, but she still wore the same deadpan expression as Blanc.
