Hyperia Will REMAIN CLOSED! | Hyperia will NOT Open | Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park have annoucned TODAY that Hyperia will REMAIN CLOSED! It comes after the park stated that they would be "unable" to open Hyperia between sunday the 26th may and wednesday the 29th may. The park have stated that the ride will not open for another week, and that they will continue to update guests. Engineers have also been seen to install a rumoured new part on the lift hill of the ride. Since Hyperia's colosure a crane has arrived along with mack engineers to help resolve the issue. Hyperia will remain closed until the 8th June.

To the people complaining, yes of course it’s an inconvenience for you, but it is clearly necessary. Think how much money they are losing. Hundreds of thousands if not millions. Ticket sales, merch sales, accommodation, food and drink etc. They would’ve also hired more staff for marshalling the queues and for the general operation of the park. If closing it wasn’t completely necessary to keep the ride and the guests safe, they wouldn’t do it.

A rather silly comment to be honest. Alot of new coasters go down within the first month. TP are making sure its running properly for summer. Some of us know this happens to be coasters or reimagined coasters so like be. I'll ride her next year after months of sorting teething problems. I'll also know even then it's not guaranteed due to uk weather.

I feel like Thorpe Park felt it was necessary to open Hyperia for the 24th of May, as it was their 45th birthday, however the ride may have not been completely good to go if they closed it almost 2 days later. It cant have been unsafe, but it is peculiar that there are literal cranes back on site. Hopefully I can ride Hyperia in July tho, and hopefully it will open reliably after June 8. If they are also making ride openings based on historic dates, then maybe we could see something impressive for Thorpe Park's 50th birthday:)

Sadly it can't have helped that the testing phase was so rushed to get it open on time. Obviously it was tested sufficiently in terms of safety otherwise it wouldn't've opened at all, but it wasn't that long ago we saw the train go up the lifthill for the first time.

Conspiracy theory: they had to open it due to marketing commitments, but knew this wasn't finished and will be a little less motivated to open quickly than otherwise might be possible as they really need more time to complete the look and feel, it looks a bit bare.

Well if you read it properly it says they will try to open it earlier but they cant commit to promising that to people, they haven't directly said the earliest opening day is the 8th, either way its not sounding good

Alton no better... Hex - not working STILL, Sky Ride Not working until further notice, last week, Rita down, Wickerman open 2 hours then shut rest of the day, Smiler open from 1pm, Nemesis open from 2pm, 13 down for most the day... I think it's a merlin issue not exclusive to Thorpe

@@ianchilvers607 i mean hex and the sky ride are both minor and the many times ive been to Alton Towers, all major coasters have been working aside from nemesis because it was closed for the re-track, even in the rain (only th13teen was fussy but we managed to get on super quick because we were outside the entrance when it opened)

@nemesis8626 that's what I mean, there are many B&M hypers, but they all have the same premise, some overbanked turns and large airtime hills. Mack on the other hand make hypers which invent and are absolutely bonkers. (RMC also does but they were never a choice here.)
