LOL sue was so right. it was coming out of Ice V, which you guys have listened to previously. They are so good that they can seamlessly transition between two songs with entirely different drum patterns, tempos, and even keys. The transitions are becoming one of their live performance cornerstones, and they nail them pretty much every time

Every Hypertension live version is so different by how they improvise in each one, the studio version is my favorite song from them, but the live ones are wild, such a beatiful vibe! 🤟🏽

This is track 2 from Laminated Denim, their 2nd album of October 2022 alone. It's a spiritual successor to their first* album of 2022 as a whole, Made In Timeland. Both albums have 2 songs that are exactly 15 minutes long and are built around a ticking clock, making polyrhythms around the 60bpm tick. Take that away, and the two albums are different as can be. Made In Timeland is an EDM album made as background music for their Timeland Festival, I think for when the band was getting ready and such. Laminated Denim is more in line with the jam stuff they were doing at the time, as you can hear, but more krautrock-y (still not sure what "krautrock" is) than Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms And Lava, their previous record with Ice V, Magma and Iron Lung. *Timeland was _technically_ their first album of 2022, released in March, but was vinyl exclusive, later added to streaming services and Bandcamp in October.

I was there live!!! it was pretty funny, because at the time, Hypertension was probably the song on the setlist i cared the least for, but it ended up being my favourite of the concert!

You guys have to check out Boogieman Sam from red rocks 2022. Personally one of my favorite live performances that turns into an epic jam session.

Man, I got to hear Hypertension at the Hollywood Bowl show and it was such a cool vibe. It was in the back half of the set and the party favors had completely kicked in and I was part of the music. I will always have a special place in my heart for this track.

I was at this show! As you may be able to hear at the end, they did this song straight into iron lung to finish the set. Probably the best concert I've ever experienced!
