Your voice is so relaxing in of itself. Been reading alot of books I plan on becoming a hypnotherapist eventually. I love when you say that each of us has intrinsic value in nature. Very beautiful thing to include in your hypnosis each time you do a practice session on someone. Thank you for this free information I appreciate it greatly as an aspiring hypnotherapist.

I really like your video you have a very nice voice sir. I'd like to become a hypnotist it's fascinated me. I had pain syndrome. I started 4 years ago self hypnosis. then my boyfriend was on a train to no where chain smoking 42 years every hr on the hr. it was a lark but faceceously I played anti smoking tapes every am he slept in. those quality thoughts permeated his sub conscious I was awestruck. he quit and will have 2 years this august. I m impressed I can't be a practitioner but I love what it has done for my family

Thank you for such an insightful look into what you do. What are your thoughts on teaching your clients self-hypnosis skills? I'm also curious as to why you don't refer to what you do as hypnotherapy. (With the understanding that we're not speaking about a registered profession.)
@MorpheusHypnosis

Thank you! The reason I don't speak much about self-hypnosis is that it isn't a common request that my office receives -- I don't think I attract the DIY crowd -- so I don't have a ton of experience with it. My clients hire me because I'm able to offer perspectives that they haven't been able to come up with on their own, whereas with self-hypnosis, the client is limited by the suggestions they write themselves, and then they have to be both the guide and follower at the same time. I use the term hypnosis and hypnotherapy interchangeably in everyday life, but when I'm speaking to an international audience where the laws sometimes force a distinction between the two, I will use the safer term.

I most certainly do not agree with the statement that it has no value to consider a person's traumatic past. On the contrary. One of the most important things is to provide safety for the abused child that is in the adult.

Thanks for watching my video. I believe that your comment refers to the part where I say the following about practising hypnosis in a risk-aware manner: "In my experience, it's usually not necessary (at least in most most of the cases I see) to be looking at the client's past. There are no answers or solutions often to be found by looking at the client's past. The answers and solutions are better found in the thinking of people who don't have the problem that your client has. So even in professional practice it's often unnecessary to be exploring the client's past. "One additional risk is that there is the possibility of re-traumatizing someone. If they have had a history of trauma and unexpectedly a memory they had, um, filed away at the back of their heads, it comes back to the forefront again and they have to deal with all of that all over again. So let's leave that to psychotherapists. Let's leave that to psychologists. Let's leave that to professional relationships where the expectation is that such memories will be unpacked over a much longer time span than the typical course of hypnotherapy." I'm leaving my words without further commentary, because my original statement contains more nuance than that "it has no value to consider a person's traumatic past."

He speaks intentionally but already lost me. He said “it’s not easy to make a living doing hypnosis”. Why would you speak that over business owners who want to do that. Poor practice. You lost me with that negativity straight away. I know people who do it. You can do it! Don’t listen to that garbage.

I once saw a new practitioner lose her life savings, which ran into the six figures, because she did not take the business risks of hypnotherapy seriously. I will not repeat the mistake of staying silent when these things happen.

@@MorpheusHypnosis You would have erred with not emphasizing the risks. Negativity comes with everything, if being told it isn't easy is all it takes to scare her off... I doubt she listens to much.

It is only one skill. If you know how to do marketing and sales obviously you can make money with any third skill. Without for example NLP it would be very hard, because everybody wants professional who can solve the issue
