If the usage is once in a month but for around 2500 kms then which one is best. Petrol or Diesel? I have heard that diesel engine cars if not used regularly then get into more maintenance problems.

Creta base diesel is the best and most valued varient as I see after having driven i20 diesel for about 50000 kms in hills and plains. It drives effortlessly and is quite efficient also. The base varient can be upgraded to your requirements post purchase which will be quite economical as well as can be fitted with quality accessories.

Good analysis. But you should add the difference in maintenance cost, insurance cost and resale value. If we add all these, Diesel makes sense only when monthly drive is 3000 km or more. So go for diesel only if money is not an issue for you and you want to have a fun driving experience or you drive more than 3000 km per month.

Bhai kiya creta EX patrol hill side road area ke liye batter option rahega , kiyuki me 3 ya 4 month me ek baar chamoli (uttarakhand ) jata hu jo ki mere resident se 240 km ki distance hai , kiya creta EX Patrol model ka pickup or loading capacity better hai agar hum 4 adults person ho to EX Patrol creta ka pickup or loading capacity better rahegi, meri running 1 month ki 600 km ki hai , mujhe creta ex model lena chahiye , finally aap ye battaye ki tata nexon ka nm 170 hai or xuv 300 ka nm 200 hai lekin creta ka nm 144 hai kiya creta ka pickup bahut hi low hai kiya , please mera confusion ka solution battaye

This explanation is for a compact SUV like Creta/Seltos. Should be applicable to mini SUVs as well like Ecosport/Venue/Nexon. But what would you suggest for.mid size or full size SUVs like Harrier, Hector or even bigger like Fortuner/Endeavor. Would it be fair to say that bigger cars would perform better in diesel only even if running is 1000 km per month due to the added weight of these cars ?

This calculation is suitable for Creta segment and nexon segment both. For full-size harrier or hector the calculation is a bit different. Choosing a diesel engine in bigger cars is the ideal choice until we get powerful and fuel-efficient petrol engines in future.

@@TheCarGuide Thanks for the reply, thought as much. I am confused between Creta 1.5 and Creta 1.4, considering only petrol engine with automatic transmission. Both are similarly priced with 1.5 SXO and 1.4 SX almost having the same price . My driving is 80% in city and balance highway visits to the hills. And then Kicks turbo is launching in India soon as well. What would you suggest please?

Rishabh please explain viewers that the size of creta back side glass is too small and if you dont have rear view camera then it is very difficult to reverse the creata cos while watching backwards there are many hinderances like head rest snd small size of rear glass. Please explain the viewers The size of glass should be bigger.

Hi Rishab I am using bs 4 diesel brrzza car, in near future bs 6 diesel will be available at petrol pumps, bs 6 diesel contains only 10 ppm of sulphur and it is said that it will have long term effects on bs 4 diesel engines using bs 6 fuels. Tell me how can we increase the sulphur content in bs 4 diesel vehicles, can we some add some sedatives to do this, kindly reply.

I think u should include insurance premium in ur calculations. Coz diesel car have more premium than petrol. And . also bank intrest on extra money for diesel .

What you have only talked on recovery of extra cost. But I think the extra money that you pay up front will be recovered while selling the car. At least 80%. If this is the scenario you only lose interest component, while you get far better drivability.
