When a product is used in the way its creator intended, you get smiles and immense satisfaction. Satria's face showed that in spades. YS, great driving as always. What a treat. Unfortunately, I'm now thinking I may not want to get this car because I can't do it justice the way YS did. The cost is not so prohibitive here in Aus (AUD50k) compared to Malaysia (RM300k) so I have been thinking of this one for the fun factor, have to now think again...

The road is the climb to the Genting Casino. Beautiful road, and safe because it is one way for 98 percent of the way.

I have the German version Modell Year 2019. The Head Unit is not the best. But it works.. The rest is the best value for the money. The last kilometers home on the country road always make me smile except its foggy, heavy rain or snow and ice ... Its clearly made for corners.

I love this car. This is sport car and it’s gonna best tested on track. Btw, i wonder why uncle has switch off rev matching cause it’s one of the special feature of this car and later only I’ll know that uncle do manual rev matching😄.. This car has warranty on track. Best driving there uncle and the torque isn’t been used fully yet..

Great drive and review Uncle! I love my N. Took it for a test drive and after the first pop and crackle from the exhaust, dropped my deposit the moment I got back to the dealer. But there's such a huge price difference between here (Australia) and in Malaysia even taking into account with the exchange rate!

YS, I couldn’t help but noticed the representative from Hyundai Malaysia had quite a concerned look on his face on the way up BUT he did managed an occasional smile haha! He seemed to have enjoyed the ride down though. Well at least he can inform potential customers first-hand, what this car can do; especially at the hands of a top driver like you. He is one of the few lucky ones that got to ride with you. Thoroughly enjoyed the video.

Hi Richard, it was his first time with me, and also he had never even driven the car hard, especially on this type of terrain. I suppose he must have gained more confidence in both the car and driver after the uphill drive, enough to enjoy the return journey. For me it is also a discovery drive, having never driven the car before. I also had to feel the car on the way up, and had to be more careful until I got more familiar. If you watch my Golf GTi video, you may note I was able to go fast from the very start because I was familiar with the chassis. Very astute observation. Which part of NSW are you in? Bathurst or Sydney?

I test drive performance pack, handling super good, the E-LSD very good, I though is 4WD, comfortable too. Better than type-R.

Looks much better than a Type-R. Design is more mature and grow-up, does not scream "Look at me!"

maybe the i30N looks better than civic type R for some people, but the fk8 type R is definitely the better car in terms of performance/handling. the people in USA and europe already tested the veloster N (which is almost the same car) and the civic around race tracks and the civic is always faster. Example: The fk8 type r currently holds the record for fastest fwd car around the nurburgring at 7 minute 43.8 second. hyundai did not release an official lap time even though their N stands for nurburgring, where they allegedly developed and tested the car lol. they probably dont want to release the lap time bcos the civic completely destroy it

@@sammylam1649 so? not everything is about lap times. there's probably a few bits where this car excels compared to the type r. this car is still being appreciated in other markets unlike here where it's mostly being condemned just because its a Hyundai. although I agree the pricing is ridiculous here and what do you mean by " allegedly developed and tested the car"? its a well known fact that Hyundai have a R&D centre at Nurburgring and you can just easily search up videos of their prototypes being tested there

I own the fastback N for 2 months now, the car is awesome and good for every day use. Maybe suspension is a bit hard and the tires are not so good for freezing or very wet conditions, but it's normal for a performance car. I loved every minute of driving it, I would recommend to everyone.

When Khong can make a normal Bezza drive like a modified car, I betcha he can drive an i30N looks like a supercar overtaking everybody on the way up/down Genting! The only thing I don't like about the i30N is the RM300k sticker price. This is strictly for well-to-do dude.

Some are better. What we do is explore the potential of each car; we drive it fast, but there are difference in suspension, power delivery, handling, brakes, ride comfort, etc.

Funny how sime darby price the car. It should be the first sport compact car from korean manufacturer..should have come with attractive intro price so many will sway from golf r or type r. In uk or europe this car is priced within the golf gti price and it is well received. Here it is priced within the type r n golf r category...i really love this car, but at that price my money is either on type r or golf r

Uncle the rivals for this car is golf r and megane rs. In your opinion which is the bang for the bucks in every aspects. This kimchi also is quite expensive.

I think it sits in between the Golf GTi and the Golf R. The R is definitely faster, and this has more horses than the GTi but does not have the AWD system of the R.

Uncle and his (another) passenger is back.. Its a pity Korean made car is not well appreciated by Malaysian in general. If they were doing well probably they are selling this at slightly cheaper price? I have friends from India who were swear by the Hyundai they have. Undoubtedly those who bought it know what they are getting into and dont give a hoot about what other are thinking about it. (Think of it those who bought Bermaz imported MX-5 which are being sold at substantially higher than other country)

Bit of trivia. What does Hyundai N mean? The 'N' in Hyundai N stands for Namyang, home to Hyundai Motor's global R&D Centre in Korea since 1995, where the idea was born, and for the Nürburgring, home to Hyundai Motor's European Test Centre, where the i30 N was further developed and tested.

Nice driving uncle Can you test it on a track so that you can push the car you are testing a little bit further? Plus it can help from endangering other people on the road Also : dont forget to always use the blinkers (signal penting bosskur)

We don't have money to rent a test track. We can always just do a walk around review and then drive it slowly and tell you how great it handles, and how well it corners at those speeds. There are many channels doing just that.

Since this i30N is only available with manual trans, I'm guessing the car will be loved more by three-pedal enthusiasts with plenty of money to splurge on buying the next weekend car.
