Thank you for a really informative video, I've just ordered one from Just Generators to power my Pop Up Pub. The price of the Hondas made me weep so I'm very happy to hear these are a good match at half the price.

Hi , Thanks for your informative video.I have a similar setup to you using it from my van. Can you tell me that when fitting the exhaust extension if the Spark Arrester on the end of the original exhaust from the generator has to stay there or can be removed. Also does the generator need grounding to the chasis of the van? Thanks
@dangerrous4 жыл бұрын
exhaust extension is a night heater flexi pipe, I've put an ebay listing in one of the comments, the hyundai exhaust is 25mm, I had to enlarge the flexi exhaust ID with a mandrell, the spark arrester was left out, but I did use the end gauze because the exhaust sounded a little quieter. Not sure about earthing the unit, I treat it as a portable power supply, if you're concerned about the possibility of a faulty piece of equipment leaking voltage to it's exterior, I would use a plug in rcbo in conjuction with said piece of equipment.

Item looks good. Whats the range of the remote control as that's the main feature I'm looking for. When it's ,running does it charge the on board battery for the starter?

Internal charger for battery, remote range around 20m uniterrupted line of sight

Thanls for the video reveiw, so 4 years on, the all important question, is it still running and working fine?

@@dangerrous That’s awesome, just picked up a used one tonight based mainly on your positive review. It didn’t come with instructions, do you know off hand the scroll order of the digital readout? It doesn’t mention it in the online manual I found.
@dangerrous7 ай бұрын
@@AndyoLawrence Sorry can't remember scroll, but it's quite simple. fuel level in ltrs L output voltage, hr meter, approx runtime calculated against fuel level and Either amps or watts being drawn by equipment.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting this . I also need to reroute the exhaust. Whet did you you ?. Thanks

night heater flexible exhaust, make sure it's 25mm internal diameter, or use a mandrel to expand the pipe

Hello , thank you for posting your video jan of 2019 on the generator I am thinking of buying one for welding out in the field , can you please give me your thoughts on the generator 18 months on ?? thank you D
@dangerrous3 жыл бұрын
This generator is still an important part of my van set up, The automatic choke can be a pan in the back when the engine is just warming up, sometimes I have to use the pull start to get it going again. The genny performs many tasks, transformer 110v powertools, phone charger, power tool cordless battery charger and finally clean 235v supply for mains and the inverter welder. The most I can draw from the genny for welding is 99amps, I can get away with most welding tasks, anything really heavy is served by our welder gennys or a mains power supply. We purchased this sinewave generator to perform many tasks, pricewise it's paid it's way many times over.

I have just ordered one for my van, how did you modify the exhaust?
@dangerrous3 жыл бұрын
Night heater flexible exhaust pipe, just make sure to confirm the ID is 25.4mm, I had to enlarge to 1" from 24mm with a mandrell. The flexi pipe runs under the genny, I fitted the mesh on the end of the pipe, not sure if it really does anything. The genny has just hit 500hrs of use and is still going strong

Hi can you tell me where you got this generator from? Thanks
Thanks for very useful video, I am planing to use it for my coffee van. Have you screw fixed this in the floor(bench) or just belted it ? how did you modified the exhaust pipe? can I extend the exhaust pipe till out side of the van? Please Can I have you contact if I may call you ?
@dangerrous4 жыл бұрын
The generator is on a 'fitted platform' holding the the wheels and front feet in place, the strap then prevents it moving in transit. the exhaust pipe is from ebay, here's an example www.ebay.co.uk/itm/60cm-Exhaust-Pipe-24mm-Silencer-Muffler-Set-For-Car-Parking-Diesel-Air-Heater-UK/123941302971?hash=item1cdb7a32bb:g:4fwAAOSwb7ddFDCh you have to search for 25mm internal diameter pipe so it fits over the original exhaust. I wouldn't recommend fitting the genny in an unventilated area, the engine cooling fan moves a lot of hot air, my doors are open when running the generator. cheers Darren. Sorry no contact other than youtube

@@dangerrous Thanks for the response. Does this take couple of attempts to start for you ? mine doesnt work as one touch in morning, it will run for few mins then go down (no loads on it, nothing plugged in !!) after doing this 3/4 times it will then run!! am i doing some thing obvious incorrect? Also it goes down after around 2 hours of running !! is it designed for that or thats the capacity ?
@dangerrous4 жыл бұрын
@@tcstigers Generator runs all day without fault. The electronic choke can be tempremental when warm, I have to start it manaully on the pull cord (about 6 good pulls). Check your oil level, if it is low the generator will stop, it takes about 525ml from empty. We run the generator all day with kangos and all types of 110v equipment through a commercial transformer, we have two of these generators on the fleet, both work without fault, apart from the electronic choke gremlin (this seems to affect all cheap chinese generators)

Not sure as to the usefulness of the remote keyfob, as you have to be there to turn the fuel on... Throw some more light onto your subject for a better image, it's almost totally blacked out at the start of your vid. Thanks for posting. 👍

That's great news. Really want one but it would only be as a back up power source for my large koi pond... I'm assuming it would power a 10000ph pump and air pump surely? Also am I correct in assuming it's an inverter pure sine wave? I think you said it was but double checking. Lastly... how reliable is the remote start? I've heard it gives up after a few month Thanks again

@@Nitroracer2332 Pure sinewave, generator will output 3.5kw peaks at 3.8kw, no problems with remote start. I take care of the genrator, servicing every 100hrs with a filter clean and sparkplug change every 500hrs
