Hyundai Sonata - Airbag Problem, Fixed!!!

Күн бұрынOk, Here I just bought a used car, and on the way driving it home from the car dealer, the airbag light came on!! I was so Pissed!! How can these used car dealers get away with this crap??? Oh I know,... the laws in this country protect the criminals, and harm the innocent!! Anyway, something had to be done, since now the car will not pass state inspections.. I ended up consulting with my mechanical engineer buddy who is also an expert auto mechanic.. and tried his advice.. and it worked!! It ACTUALLY fixed the Airbag problem!! Thank you sooo Much!!! This will save thousands of dollars in repair shop fees!!!

Many many thanks for the video. I paid lots of money to solve this problem. I have changed almost every part of the system, but unfortunately I couldn't fix the problem. Now I fixed the that. Thanks a lot from Turkey.

@@mustafauyar595 merhaba, öncelikle bilgisayar ile arabaya bağlanıp hatanın nereden geldiğine bakmanız lazım. Benimkinde sürücü airbag direnci çok yüksek diye bir uyarı veriyordu. Direksiyon sargısını bile değiştirdim orjinaliyle geçmedi sorun. Sonra sürücü koltuğunun altındaki sarı renkli soketi çıkartıp tekrar taktım. Sorun çözüldü. Ancak 6 ay kadar sonra yine yandı airbag lambası. Şu an bu şekilde geziyorum. Airbag direnci çok yüksek hatası bir kaza anında airbag in açılmayacağı anlamına gelmiyor aslında. Sistem bir kopukluk olması durumuna karşı sizi uyarıyor. Kesinlikle piyasadaki ustaların aklına uyup lambayı söndürmek için direnç falan attırmayın. İşte o zaman gerçekten airbag patlamaz bir kaza durumunda.

I saw another video on this for Hyundai and Kia and it seems the plug harness for the seatbelt to either of the front seats can also keep the airbag light on. Apparently it can be unplugged when cramming stuff under there or by rear occupants feet.

Why are some folks posting like they can't remove the seat? Taking out the seat is only four 14mm fasteners (2 nuts, 2 bolts) and two SRS connectors. On my Sonata, I had the seat out in less than two minutes. Take out the seat and make it easy on yourself while you clean the connectors.

Did the light go off immediately for you? I have same problem. Unplugged them on, sprayed with electrical cleaner and still on. 05 Sonata

It wen't off immediately.. and it never came back on.. I had an airbag problem with my VW jetta, which I recently made a video on, and I did have to reset that error with an OBD device.. but with this car, I did not.. just re-plugging the plug made the light go off! Thanks for the great comments!

Be careful to try this on newer models. A lot of newer models require a reprogramming of your seat to turn off the light this will not workon newer cars you will have to have your module sent in to a repair shop or have the dealership do it

You need to disconnect the battery to do this? Or I just like that?

You should ALWAYS disconnect the battery when working in the SRS. If for some reason the airbag were to deploy while you are inside working on it, it will get spiritual for you real fast. Also, it's expensive to replace a deployed airbag.

@@rmromanko I have had a Hyundai sonata 2003 for over a year and could never ever find out why the Air bag light is on I hope this works. So all I have to do is turn off the car and unplug that wire under the seat and it should go away? Man that would be great I find it annoying for some reason lol 😂

No I tried disconnecting the cables but there right in the center of the seat but I’m try tomorrow again

Someone else suggested pulling the airbag fuse for an inspection?? I have not tried this.. but they think it might work? Thanks!

What a whiner. I am sure the car dealer made that plug in to have high resistance the minute you took off from the lot. Also you may have fixed the problem, but are the codes still in the air bag computer? Yes, air bags can be dangerous, but a quick look on KZfaq shows how they can absolutely save lives. Search '59 Chev versus 2009 Malibu. Your attitude may be different. Me-48 years Master Certified Machanic, 25 year owner 7 man shop.
