Hi KR! Thanks for your feedback and advice! In terms of choice, I pick songs I enjoy. With a wide variety of styles - I agree some are better suited to my voice than others 👍 When it comes to annunciation I guess that's just the way I naturally speak/sing, haha. I felt happy enough with this version to share it because I enjoy putting my own spin on a song to make the listener hear it in ways not heard before 🙂 I always want to present my own version and not a "copy" of the original - which I think (based off the comments, whether it worked or not) I achieved. I like to sing a lot of male songs too because immediately the ears hear something new and different. I like to challenge myself, experiment, and create new things - all in a style of my own 😊 I will say, recording wise, I have a basic and straight forward set up. I tend to increase the vocal volume and pull them out a little more - I often wonder if it would sound better to bury them into the music a little more and not have the voice so exposed... (maybe imperfections won't be as visible that way... 🤷) I don't mix the music because I don't know how, haha, so I understand the sound quality isn't the best sometimes. I only add a little echo to my voice once recorded - there is no auto-tune, no effects, other than that. And I just lay that over the music. Nothing fancy, and then I produce it. I understand your critique is about the way I sing it and not the recording itself, I just felt it a good opportunity to share the overall process as well as how I song select and what I ultimately aim to achieve.
