octaves, ring mods, and pitch shifters are all in the same category i think, different then regular modulation

I don't know if it exists, but a pedal that modulates between octave up and octave down, like a tremolo but instead of volume level it is octave (octave down to octave up then back again, etc.) level.

I just had a great idea: Your guitar signal gets split into 3 separate signal paths. One goes through a clean (no dirt) polyphonic analogue octave up, one goes through a clean polyphonic analogue octave down, and one stays clean. Then all three signals get blended back together into one signal, that goes on to your amp. So the final signal is 1/3 octave up, 1/3 clean, and 1/3 octave down. Now take all what I said, and put it into a pedal. You're welcome.

Funny thing i onced searched for analog pitch shifter online and found nothing but unknowing people who claimed that it is impossible. Guitar players seem to be an exceptional low brained and illusioned volk. The first pitch shifters used this exact concept only with digital delay lines instead of analog. Not for less noise or less latency as one might think but for higher precision to reduce this ringmod sound. I suggest you to learn some basic math so you understand the concept of multiple wave composition. The secret lies in using two square waves and one triangle. The triangle wave peaks in the crossing where the one squarewave drops and the other maxes. Good success amd nice determination!
