I think Drew misunderstood East america entirely. I think the game meant that France and England would now be called east America because it is east of mainland USA and putting it on the west coast makes no sense. So south east america was France, and north east America is england

At first it sounded like "the area that England and France controls in East America goes to the US", like the 13 colonies plus the area around St. Lorence stream plus the area of 'the Louisiana purchase', so I understood it first as a pretty thick pretty early newborn USA (and they only went to London and Paris to get their demands against both Kings), but then the thing with Napoleon made me question that reasoning. Still, no way it's meant for California/Cascadia, which should be Spanish ... which should be English in that timeline due to the previous change ... well, maybe there WAS some truth in Drew doing that thing in the west. But no, after all, there was nothing that changed the meaning of east and west there, so whatever happened, it was nothing like Drew painted up there in that regard.
