One thought is simple analogy for the "tax fraud" in NY. TWO SETS of BOOKS. There is slight wiggle room in evaluations - decor, branding can add value, BUT you can't change from 11 thousand sq ft to 30 thousand sq ft unless you do physical renovations. IF his loan evaluations are correct, then Trump owes a butt load of taxes. If his tax estimates are correct,he committed fraud per the laws of NY. Two sets of books is typical mob tactics to hide illegal activities.

Same. David probably doesn't have to do a ton of debate prep, because he sticks with facts and Empirical truth. People who parse words and bend facts to suit their subjective needs aren't usually as quick on their feet as our David. I couldn't get a read on the guy firing the questions at David, though. Seems like he was being deliberately provocative and simply ill informed/duped by other at different times.

That was an outstanding interview. He asked really great questions that were important and seemed to leave no stone, unturned. And you were on the ball with great answers that were to the point, logical, informed, wise.. there was no dancing around or weird evasiveness or double talk that usually happens in interviews... I mean, just an altogether really great interview. I really enjoyed it. The only thing that surprised me was that he had never heard of the whole "alternative facts" situation that the Republicans were pushing to gaslight people with. That whole thing was super stressful. And yeah... it was, as he said, "really dangerous". Our country is still suffering the affects from that abuse of trust.

Completely missed and never discussed with regard to Biden's memory during the deposition, MOST people do not have great long term memory. As a 30-year attorney I cannot tell you how many times I have heard someone who is 30, 40, 50, etc., after being asked about something that happened perhaps two years ago, responding "It's hard to remember. That was a long time ago." It's no different that eye witness identification, which most people get wrong most of the time.

Whoever wins the primary will win the general. Really rooting for George. Good man who consistency delivers for his constituents (and has never lost an election). this! it's hard for everyone to think back years. the interview also wasn't about whether he could accurately pick out specific years. the focus was on the investigation, which came in the middle of his presidency and just after the gaza attacks. it's only natural for biden's memory to not be in humanly perfect. and anyway, biden told multiple stories which were solid. he knew the month and day, someone interjected on the year to push the interview along. it's not like biden couldn't figure it out or even take a guess, he literally didn't have the opportunity.

Pakman mentioning "in person" vs. "the perception" of Harris was interesting. I've had the opportunity to be on some conference calls with some big players (including Harris) and that's been my takeaway as well. @EcoCentrist
@EcoCentrist 16 күн бұрын
things can look distorted through the lens of the media sometimes. Harris just seems to perform rather poorly as a media figure, but it's easy to forget that awkwardness in front of a camera isn't necessarily an accurate representation of someone's real life persona

@@EcoCentristexactly. it's important to remember that politicians are human beings too and while media has become a bigger and bigger part of politics, it's not the sole focus. being able to actually execute the job matters more than whether you're awkward in speeches or interviews. another layer is that this is a very turbulent time, anxiety is high with politicians. especially for the first black and asian woman vice president who's already been so viciously attacked. even if she was perfect on camera, they'd find something to make up or nitpick. hell, they make up shit about the president and he's a white man.

@@teejay3272yep! people get bored by politics and want entertainment to come with it. but then also feel comfortable in throwing around nonsensical criticisms as if they're up to date on how politics actually works. it's a huge part of the "concern" over biden's age. he's shown he's perfectly fine, the last 3 years have helped america not hurt it. but what it does mean is that he's not as easily sexualised by the media, he's not young and hip, running around making girls swoon. the articles and trending hashtags of biden in his youth is the perfect example. they had to find something to ooh and awe at because someone doing their job isn't enough.

On the point of ACA and state opt-ins: Alabama, unsurprisingly, did not opt into expanding coverage through the ACA, and that impacted my grandmother when she was under critical care. My mother, years after the fact, still blames the bill itself, rather than the states deciding to leave my grandmother to die for the sake of inventing a political argument. So David's point regarding that is well-founded and honestly very on-the-mark.

This kid thinks that Trump appeared in the scene four or five years before 2016, When he had been in the spotlight for three decades leading the circus....

Ahh, I wish I was only aware of Trump the last few years. I actually stayed at Trumps hotel in NY and it was tacky, worn out and dirty. Also, destroyed my friends fathers piano business by not paying anything but a down pmt. Kept all 20 (I think) pianos and told him to take him to court if he wanted to be paid. He’s not for the working man. He disdains them.

Your friend's father was just one of MANY small businesses that were ruined by djt's refusal to pay for services rendered! That is why it is so sad to see the average working American citizen show him support!

Perhaps understandably, he thinks 2016 was Trump's first political run... it wasnt. That in fact was his third presidential campaign, though to be fair, the first ('96?) was in reality just a publicity stunt.

Yeah, we knew getting out of Afghanistan was going to be a shit show when we went in. If you didn't know that, then you have to either be a child that wasn't aware back then, or not born yet at all.
