I am from the city life
From busy streets and sirens at night
I am from the yellow lights that lined the streets
From late-night walks to clear my mind
To the long talks that filled the night
I am from never knowing enough, but sometimes, knowing too much
From nobody understanding why, why I can't think at times
I am from the noise that blocked my thoughts
From the constant buzz in my house
I am from being different, but just wanting to be the same
From the ADHD that caused so much strife
To all the music, that is my life
I am from loving too easily
From relationships that just don't feel right
To ones that hurt like a knife
I am from holding back
From the emotions I just can't show
I am from a small town in Massachusetts
To being raised in Kansas
I am from the two-story house in the cul-de-sac
From homemade food in the pots
In the house, that blocked my thoughts
I am from the shyness that always caused rough starts
From the longing to touch others hearts
I am from blocking things out
All the bad things that ended up in this art
I am from the good mornings and goodnights
From the cherished hellos
To the unwanted goodbyes
I am from the nights that will make my life
To the one day I say, will you be my wife
