In a shocking display of indignation, Israeli Ambassador Gilad Erdan shredded the UN charter just before the UN General Assembly approved a resolution endorsing Palestine's right to full membership. On Friday, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution urging the Security Council to grant Palestine full membership of the UN. While there were 143 votes in favour of the resolution, 25 countries and 9 nations including the US and Israel voted against it.
