Sincere question: What criteria are the horses judged on _in this class_ ? Reach? Action (with knees)? Speed? Overstride- and is it proportional to the horse (i.e., does it vary with height/ back length)? Squat? Suspension? Headshake? TIA!

I think for the WGC its how smooth and easily the horse can carry themselves in the gait. I would say normally a larger stride in the front end and a more exaggerated overstride in the back is what's usually looked for. They also say "if the head ain't bobbin', they ain't walkin'." And to answer the proportions question, its mostly a bloodline thing.

All abuse has been outlawed since 1970. These horses are inspected for soring before and after each show to ensure compliance with the HPA
