I left job in March 2020 due to same reasons in Australia. Was ready to pack my bags and leave. But the whole world was in lockdown, no flights nothing. Got an offer from the biggest Aussie healthcare company, during interview I was very clear what happened to me in my last job, they offered me free therapy session, a huge raise and a senior position. Had a lot of respect and dignity, beware Healthcare jobs can be a battlefield of bullies, cut to present times, in 4 years got 6 raise, they sponsored my permanent residency, and I couldn't be happier. I keep preaching younger Healthcare professionals to stand up for any sort of bullying and racism. Also, so true, my destiny was written in a way where I wasn't suppose to return, and things played out supporting it. Best luck.

Good that you brought this up. It happens so much in India. It’s like people have normalised having a toxic office environment. I know we aren’t supposed to carry our personal emotional baggage to our workplace but people should be considerate. I got my first job in Kanpur, my home town right after I graduated from Nift. My reporting manager was also from Nift and she was quite skilled but she was a bully too. Other colleagues were like “woh aise hi hai” I was going through a rough patch in my life and dude the way she spoke to me was even more traumatising. So rude, so mean. I somewhere left it because of her and the team as well. This shouldn’t be happening. This office politics sucks big time.

Dude even big companies do that. PWC Australia did the same with my husband. There was this lady Leona Goh, a Singaporean lady and the director who was not only a bully but also a racist. She would treat 2 people in her team who are Ausie with respect, but with my husband she would literally question everything thing he would do. He was in his probation and never been to an Australia, so obviously he would take time to adjust. In one on one She would make remarks like oh you should talk more with the team. When my husband tried to, then she would literally change the topic in the team and would start talking about things that my husband had no idea. This Singaporean Lady is a perfect example of corporate bully. My husband raised his voice and PWC pretended that they would help, how ever after 15 days of feedback my husband gave to HR, he was laid off. It’s great to see that you are voicing up against these things.

The courage never builds, other source of income doesn’t work or isn’t foolproof, and the victim slowly keeps deteriorating under the building pressure

But that doesn’t mean u can bully to the next level. I raised my voice n complaint to the head of the department. Department talked to the Subject Representative and also guided to take a stand for myself. Later on she became little aware. But as u mentioned that fellow colleague never change. 😂 I stood for myself later on I gave resignation and quit the job. I mean I work here for money not for loving the company. The company is yours so you love the company. Don't expect that from your employees when you treat them like shit. And yhe fact that I couldn't understand what more expectations they had from me because I was handling all they asked me to (literally everything). Even I faced a similar situation I was working part time cuz I’m a student at a pharmacy kyunki Goa me toh unemployment ka pahad tut pada hai. I joined on 1st jan 24 and the later the next day they appointed another girl to work full day as days passed this girl started taking leaves, used phone for hours and on the other hand she used to complain because I used to be the only one working part time there somehow she succeeded in her plans and I get a notification that they had to let me go off that job. I sacrificed on my studies missed classes and being a llb student it’s really hard to focus we have vast syllabus we really need to teach a lesson to such people
