Plot Episode 1:
Quinn escapes the fires and starts her mission back to the year 3992, where the climate change had not yet caused the extinction of thousands of animal species. While travelling she changes places with her Past-Self, which is now in the future, while Quinn travels back in time. When she arrives, it is raining. She is falling down from a portal upon the sky and crashes several times at the mountain, yet, she does not get hurt. The water of the rain later reveals the metal under her skin. We get to know water must harm her, yet we do not know why. She meets Morgan, her best friend, after falling down the mountain. She had travelled there before Quinn. Morgan is shown biting a cub, transforming it. We get to know that Quinn and Morgan are "machines", through their dialogue. Morgan brings the cub to a camp and Quinn is left alone, saying "I will be able to see Cún again. I promise, I won't lose you again". Who is Cún?
The next day Quinn is looking at Cún from far away. He is sitting with his small brother, Zài, who wants to know what happened last night, as he knows a cub has been taken again. Cún refuses telling him the truth. Quinn does not care about their dialogue at all, instead she is shocked and overwhelmed seeing Cún again after years. She remembers how he died in 3992, and now that she travelled to that year, she wants to prevent him from dying and change the past. Can she manage to?
Plot Episode 2:
The Master orders the wolves to "hunt-down" all Cubs they manage to, meaning to take them away from their parents, transform them and bring them to the camp. One wolf, her name is Arcane, seems to support the Master a lot and constantly flatters him. Morgan explains to Quinn that Arcane is one of the best fighters, but that she has second thoughts. We get a feeling that Arcane cannot be trusted.
At the Camp there are many cubs having metal legs or other metal body parts, and a cub is standing within the flames of fire without dying.
As Quinn brings the Cub she has just fetched and transformed to the Master, he does not seem to appreciate it too much, however he says a quick "Thank you, you may leave now." Shortly after that Arcane and her companion, a dark red wolf, bring four cubs to the Master, which he very much appreciates. Quinn realises quickly, Arcane is a more skilled hunter than herself. She also does not seem to be fond of Quinn too much.
While they are hunting the cubs, Cún wakes up from the screaming of a mother, who is screaming after her baby "Bring her back!". He runs to her and asks her what happened, however she is just crying and looking after her child, which has just been taken by Quinn. Cún then looks towards the same direction and catches a glance of a white tail dissappearing behind a tree.
The next morning he wakes Quinn and screams at her, full of excitement, that he saw the "monsters" yesterday night. This shows that Cún does not assume Quinn has anything to do with "them" (the monsters). Quinn does not wake up at first, but as Cún shouts again, she gets scared out of her sleep and accidentally crashes at Cún's head. Ouch! The episode ends with Quinn and Cún looking into each other's eyes.
Plot Episode 3:
Cún tells Quinn he saw a shadow at night, the 'monsters'. Quinn doesn't know how to reply and flunks the situation by claiming she needs to go somewhere. Later she is using her "robot/magic abilities" to look into the future, how her Past-Self is doing. Remember it was transported to the future when our actual "Quinn" travelled to the past. This is a problem, because their Past-Self is no robot, meaning it can die in the fire. So, Quinn is watching her Past-Self, whether it is still alive. Arcane approaches from behind and is, once again, mocking Quinn and speaking condescending of her. Quinn absolutely does not want to speak to her. Arcane informs Quinn that there'll be a meeting later.
At the meeting the Master says that the wolves started forming packs and there are wolves staying awake guarding the others at night. Though killing is no part of the mission, he says "eliminate them first", so that they can get the cubs. Surprisingly Arcane speaks up and shouts at the Master that this is unacceptable. The Master however does not take back what he said and sends them off to yet another night-mission. Hiding in the bushes, Morgan accidentally steps onto a branch and the guard sees them. Morgan has no other choice than to jump out and attack the guard. Cún wakes up and runs to them, accidentally splashing water on Morgan, who immediately backs off. The guard, wounded, says to Cún that "they are one of us, they are wolves" (these "monsters"). Cún looks after Morgan and says "Water?", meaning he understood water harms them.
