All he wanted was his Details, he was sent down by the big knob in charge. Yeah yeah there's the museum you can send up your drone ( I have no problem with that ) down at the bottom where you came in . Knowing that he didn't want it flying over at all but legally couldn't stop it . So got his partner in crime to go down and make up a reason to stop him . Ask soon as he got out of that crap of a car he wanted to know if he had line of sight . Now legally that drone was up vertical DJ hasn't had time to fly it because he turned up . From where it was he had a clear view of its position. Also that cop who was so concerned about safety, insisted on talking to a drone pilot while in charge of an aircraft. That in itself is a BREACH OF C.A.A regulations. That cop like they do so many time ", fitted DJ up " took down his personal details under a lie and threats of his equipment being Confiscated. I would seek legal advice on this outrageous act by Thames corrupt police in action.

The manipulative copper turned all friendly because he'd got the personal details he wanted via the Operator I.D.. It's very naïve to imagine that someone who immediately accuses you of a crime with no proof, threatens to arrest you and seize your drone is actually 'kind' - and we all know now the Inspector Lewis must have called him, so Lewis was also full of fake friendliness. Very very annoying interaction knowing that this guy, who did nothing wrong, now has his name tagged as being in the wrong - no jury, no judge, no proof - just a baseless accusation from that bully boy, and now his drone I.D. is tagged forever. So 'kind'? Not one bit!

He was was polite and imparted useful information/education on drone rules and also police drones. It certainly isnt a waste of time for him to stop and investigate this . His job is to fly drones for emergency assistance - accidents etc and Im sure if there was a shout he would have left to respond . In the sameway air ambulance pilots, firefighters have a lot of time waiting for a shout/incidents and if they use this time to educate then all good.

I’m astounded at the ignorance of some people on here, saying the officer is committing an offence by interrupting the drone pilot. No he isn’t. It is perfectly acceptable for somebody to talk to you while you are flying a drone, it is up to you as the pilot to keep control of the drone and, if necessary, ask them to wait while you put it in a safe position or, better still, land it. Also, by law, if a police officer suspects an offence has been committed he or she can require you to land the drone and give details of both the Operator ID and the Flyer ID. He obviously did suspect an offence had been committed: flying the drone without having Visual Line of Sight. Would you expect an officer to turn a blind eye if you went through a red light?

everyone slagging off the officer but actually he did an amazing job. It's made very clear when you take the test for an operators ID that the drone MUST be within visual line of sight at ALL TIMES. He DID commit an offense, he WAS in the wrong. Handled well by both parties. The channel is about flying drones legally and safely, and yet when he breaks the law people seem to side with him anyway. Makes me wonder why people really watch these videos.

I think you're right there, I reckon a lot of police officers get used to people blithely giving their ID upon request and lose sight of the rules under which they can legally require them. Then upon being challenged they take personal offence and get annoyed, then the usual stuff follows etc.

If the copper was studying you flying your drone as he drove towards you, then he was not in proper control of his vehicle. Driving without due care and attention I believe. The new CAA rules require you to have line of sight at all times. How that officer could tell whether you could see it or not is mind boggling to comprehend. He must have the 3rd eye? The ability to have the all seeing eye and see what you see! I’m not sure how he is going to prove this, drone flyer or not.

He said he would use the video to establish if it was in line of sight but how does he know where the operator was standing? I think if this went to court it would be a nighmare to prove. Actually, only joking. He is genuine. A bit full of himself though. The ticking off. The way he said that he knows you were out of line of sight. @JayWilcox-vv3ou5 ай бұрын
visual line of sight does mean constant line of sight, you need to keep it within full sight, so the pilot can control the full flight path unaided, also by the pilot not knowing which way round the drone was facing (by looking at his screen and yawing the drone shows that he didnt know this), Users just look at the screen with no idea of where the drone actually is what is exept if you are using the floow me more on some drones or FPV in controlled sterile settings

@@thetruth9210 how do I find out the windspead when I am flying a helicopter or plane, or how do I know how high I am when I'm flying? @@thetruth9210 Exactly. If you had to constantly look at the drone, that would make a visual display from a phone or a remote with a built in screen illegal to use if you ever looked at it.
