I might get prime 1 remastered then. I grew up playing NES Metroid and Super Metroid and recently played Metroid Dread, so I have always loved 2d Metroid, but never had the Game cube and missed out on a lot of the franchises that started out on it so I don’t even know what Prime is lol. This 4 trailer doesn’t look particularly interesting, but I also don’t really know what kind of game play it is in the first place.

​@jaredf6205 The gameplay trailer presents the game as a standard shooter, but in reality it has always maintained the exploration, puzzle like element of the 2D series, and presents a fairly faithful representation of what made the 2D games great in the 3D setting. I find that, the biggest complaint people have is the backtracking, but if you like the 2D Metroid item hunting element, there is almost always some power ups you can find on the backtracking that you can pickup

Yes they are top rated games for good reason

Prime 2 is good, but there are some issues of intuitive design that discourages players from finding resources that are plentiful, forget mechanics that are explicitly stated, and some players get a little impatient near the end and don't like re-exploring. They're all issues that can be overlooked, making it an excellent successor if you enjoy multiple playthroughs, but honestly, I understand the complaints. Prime 3 is alright. Not as tight in map cohesion as 2. Its plot is probably pretty relevant, especially a secret teaser, but 4's probably gonna be a separate enough plot to stand alone. Prime Hunters for the DS is likely also relevant, but despite enjoying the game itself, physically handling the DS to play it is cramp inducing. The plot elements also don't really tell us all that much. All that considered, Prime 1 is enough to get an impression of the gameplay style. I recommend 2, and to a lesser extent, 3. But I'm not expecting to actually need to delve into the connecting plot to understand and enjoy 4.

@@ceelibi Metroid, after all, is a niche IP, but very respected. The games aren't super easy to just pick up and play compared to other Nintendo games and they do look vastly different from everything else that comes from Nintendo. But if you give one of them your time and your attention, you might appreciate it and grow to like it. Try out Prime Remastered at night with the lights turned off for like an hour or two and see if it's your thing. Have a good day 😉
