They take liberties but it doesn’t change anything and the Bible isn’t a play or stage production. For all we know these conversations could have been longer. The Bible itself says all the books in the world couldn’t contain all the things Jesus said and did. The important thing is Jesus came and died for our sins and rose again to conquer death.

@@swampgod8244 that is an interesting comment? the line of cain is interesting, isn't it? how many people survived the flood (Genesis 6-9) and how many of them that were in/on the ark (noah's ark) were direct descendants of cain? otherwise, is it allegory or hyperbole to mention "cain's lineage" after the flood if "Every living thing that moved on land perished-birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind." in other words, if all these perished as indicated in the book of Genesis, then how did cain's lineage live on??? Did Jesus say to the Pharisees their father is the devil? How can their father be the devil if they are from Abraham's lineage? Is this allegory, hyperbole, fact or fiction? Jesus said it, is He a liar?

For Christians who object to Jesus claiming to be the law of Moses, consider that it would be completely appropriate for Jesus to have said that, even though it is not found in scripture. Scripture does however tell us that Jesus was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). Also all scripture is God-breathed...(2 Timothy 3:16). So you see all scripture, including the law of Moses, is the word of God and since the word of God is itself God and Jesus is God, then it clearly follows that Jesus is the Law of Moses. If you want to only hear what Christ said, then turn off The Chosen and stick to your bibles. It's a TV show, after all. They take liberties with the Gospel narrative, but I think they are wise and thoughtful liberties which bring God's story of redemption to life in a way that gets people excited about learning more about Jesus. I haven't seen anything in the whole series that misleads people from the truth. What I do know is that a lot of people are reading their bibles more and going back to church because of this and I praise God for it.

Jesus is God and God is the Law. I saw no contradictions there. When God is talking and saying what is what, there is no use to try and contradict Him by pointing to a law that He Himself created. He makes no mistakes and He is consistent from beginning to end, for He exists through all the time as Alpha and Omega.

Try these quotes from the book of Galatians, the oldest book in the new testament: "For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse...Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.'"- Galatians 3:10-13 "You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Jesus. You have fallen away from grace."- Galatians 5:4 The whole reason Paul was called was because Peter and others had fallen back into the old ways of the law of Moses. They were corrupting the true gospel.

He didn’t say I AM the law of Moses, he said’’ I AM or The I am. God the himself addressed himself as the I AM. It’s a 2 fold answer. 1 I Am really God in the flesh and 2 I came to forfill the Law of Moses. The producers of the chosen put that ‘ law of Moses’’ line because people not saved watching the show wouldn’t understand if Jesus said I am. Even though scripture don’t say the law of mose he did mean that. It’s no big deal.

Everybody blaming on the writer for using such wording. All we know is that the purpose of this story is to make a "contemporary Jesus". A story a bit more appealing for the people who are so far away from understanding the love of God. These days people's faith is on decline, that is undeniable. Is a matter of fact that one of the most successful shows on Netflix is "Lucifer" a series that makes the devil look like a cool guy. People that complain about this clip are acting exactly like the rabbi. Open your mind, there are other ways to follow the Son of God.

The Law of Moses or the ten commanments written in the two tablets of stones represent THE MESSIAH( Jesus as the ROCK) and the Holy Spirit.. Thats mean, The Messiah already "ARRIVE" symbolically during Moses time guiding them and Disciplining them.symbolically... Only the Religion of Christinity had that position and can call to GOD= ABBA/ AMA FATHER... The Father and Son relationship is the deepest, the closest the most intimate relationship in the Universe... This is a FAMILY Relationship...... The old testament age, the age of servant/ slave, the new testament age, the age of Adopted Son/ Son....after the Second Advent- The Completed testament age, the age of true ligetimate Son.... Thé #40 is most popular in the bible… Moses 40 yrs in the dessert roaming, Jesus 40 days and nights in the dessert after the Baptism. It poured for 40 days and nights during the flooding, at Noah time. King David Reigned for 40 years….7 yrs in Hebron and 33yrs in Judah, which is the same age of Jesus when he died, which is also the same as the longitude and latitude of his birth. Jesys was alwaya speaking symbolically. Seek the spit of the law, the equity of God itself, and it will save you by your own righteousness. Jesus never claimed power, just the knowledge of truth. Truth = God. Symbols. He trained in Egypt, they speak a symbolic language from which the Hebrews regained their spiritual template. Jesus NEVER said to worship him. Not ever.

They are very much alike. God is merciful, very merciful with barbaric people in the Old Testament. They both show us however his justice. There will be judgement of sin. There was in the Old testament like the flood and there is in the New Testament. The crucifixion of Jesus was that judgement on the world, as Bishop Barron would say. The cross entails that THIS was the price for YOUR salvation. THIS is the ugliness of sin. God HUNG on that cross for you and for everyone. That is the same God who was in the beginning. The very God who spoke the universe, the world into existence. We proclaim, Christ Crucified!

@@wildcard4552 don’t you notice the contradiction there? In the ot, judgement comes in the form of slaughter. And in the nt, there’s only self sacrifice. Also, Christ teaches us to not judge. How do we rectify that?

The God of the OT and the NT are the same God. He is part of the Trinity. Same God, different person. Jesus isn't the "nice version" of God, He is the same God. Jesus does the will of the Father. Jesus spoke of hell and judgement many times in the NT, everyone just likes the heal the sick and feed the poor part of Jesus and neglects He told people to repent.

@@darrellt5627You miss the point of what Jesus said. Jesus talked about salvation through redemption. The people were upset because Jesus said that some Gentils had more faith than the chosen. Jesus is saying that man must redeem what was taken from God at the fall of Adam and Eve. The 10 commandments says the same. Hence Jesus saying that he had completed the commandments and that we must do the same. He did not say that he would repay God for what we stole at the fall. Pay our debt. Paul said that. The bread and wine at the last supper has deep Hebrew symbolic meaning. Jesus was saying Remember me and my life that you may follow me. Live as did Jesus. If it was as the church said, we would no long be born and die because sin was defeated. We have life here because life here recreates itself. God gave a covenant inwhich we relinquished the evil to be good. We have not accomplished that as Jesus did in himself.
