Mr.Wangchuk's sincerety of appeal for a very genuine cause of safety of the Ladakh region and its indigenous population as well as the determination to fight for the rights in Gandhian way is a mirror to all of us, who are so unconcerned about the slow but steady destruction of Himalayas ecology in the name of religious tourism, development, national security and God knows how many other logical/illogical reasons despite witnessing their almost immediate illeffects, not to talk of long term ones. And it also shows a mirror to our Governments, that promise something but always forgets once in the chair. I wish them all the success in their pursuit for justice.

Mr. Sonam Wangchuk makes a compelling appeal for Ladakh and India. He is a gem of a person, learned, patriotic, not only deeply concerned about the environment, but an expert on the subject. The other views expressed by him about either statehood or councils with powers to take care of the local requirements, which will affect both Ladakh and Indians, are a fervent appeal. The Central Govt should engage with Sonam, who will readily share his knowledge and experience with the authorities concerned. His wisdom should respectfully be utilised by the authorities for the betterment and well being of Ladakh and India. Sonam could possibly be appointed as a coordinator and advisor to the govt. Ignoring his appeals will be a sheer waste of talent and detrimental to the development of Ladakh and the nation.
