I like to blacksmith sometimes just for fun!! I have made knives, swords, axes, full cutlery sets for eating, ornaments, keychains and more! It's a really fun experience ❤ congrats on the final product 👏

You had better chosen, a better steel for a knife. Spring steel is a sturdy material, but has a lower grade of sharpness, There are much better carbon steels out there. And the Blacksmith forget the tempering process. The blade is too hard, know.

Nice, simple design that still illustrates the talent of the maker. Perhaps you would consider making a twisted Damascus sometime

Nice job. Wouldn't it have been better to place a knot on the opposing side at the end where the rope was threaded through so as to keep the rope from loosening? Just wondering.

The blacksmith did a terrific job. I'm guessing you didn't pay the guy very much for his time since he made the simplest form and tied a paracord handle. I would bet if you paid him well he could produce something fantastic.

An impressive achievement, but why start with a spring? To show it can be done? Steel intended for springs and steel intended for knives have different compositions, haven't they?

Not very good craftsmanship, probably fine for a farm tool but to make a proper knife you need to use jigs to get the right bevel. There was no finger guard so get ready to visit a surgeon when you cut the tendons in your fingers. Pay the man enough to get a good product his time is worth i.t
