Playing a PJD game is one thing, but Nuzlocking them is another story. Add some Vocaloids to it, and you got a recipe for a crazy time!

- OFFICIAL RULES -
1. If the health/life bar (usually located on the top part of the chart) reaches zero, the active Vocaloid/character is considered dead and cannot be used for the rest of the run (You can choose whether it's just the character or both the character and songs with their vocals).
2. You must play your run at one difficulty above your normal play.
(Easy ➤ Normal, Normal ➤ Hard, Hard ➤ Extreme, Extreme ➤ Extra Extreme)
3. Songs must be played until cleared by Nuzlocke standards (aka there's health left on the character). If a song has been cleared once, then you cannot play it again.
4. Only songs with in-game PVs can be played. Those with 2D PVs are not recommended. (Only applies to Future Tone, Mega Mix, and Mega Mix +).

PJD NUZLOCKE RULES:
Rules (for my playthrough):
- Your goal is to beat every song in the game of your selection, or as many as possible.
- Can play in a difficulty above your usual play level (i.e. Easy ➤ Normal, Normal ➤ Hard) or your usual difficulty level with with an additional challenge (i.e. Hidden or Sudden).
- Only songs with 3D PVs may be played. No 2D PVs are allowed.
- If the health bar depletes completely, that character dies.
- You cannot play the same song more than once.
- Lead singer slot must be the current character being played with random module and hairstyle
- Additional singer slots must be completely random (module and hairstyle)

fun fact: the reason Neru looks like a bootleg miku is that she pretty much was, she was directly based off miku, and was fan made. Originally she was a joke character meant to represent trolls/people inciting drama in the vocaloid community. In 2007 when Miku first became popular, a lot of people made fun of vocaloid fans as being weeby shut ins basically like the discord mods of today. This portrayal became so widespread one day it was mentioned on TV, and at the same time Miku's wikipedia article was deleted and she was removed from search results somehow. a conspiracy came up that the Japanese music industry started portraying them this way to discourage use of the software because they were afraid vocaloids would make real singers obsolete. Others responded to this by telling the vocaloid fans to basically shut up and go to sleep which is where the name neru which means sleep comes from. Someone randomly had the idea of "what if the people posting those comments was actually a cute miku-like anime girl" and then Neru was born lol. eventually she became popular enough people made utau voicebanks for her, and then became sort of "canon" despite never being an official vocaloid. Haku had a similar history as a joke character too, and was portrayed as a drunk who can't sing, that represented unexperienced people making bad miku songs lmao

"Neru was the zigzagoon of this run" is quote of the day in all seriousness though, this was really entertaining. it's a very interesting challenge, seeing just how many songs you can manage to clear with just 10 (or in your case, 11) lives. i might have to try it sometime!

Fun fact! Akita Neru is a fanloid, as well as Yowane Haku! Haku and Neru seem to be opposites though. Neru can be low-pitched Rin or high-pitched Miku, but Haku is only low-pitched Miku. And yes yes.. ik you probably know about Haku and Sakine, and you’ve probably heard about Neru as well. But i just wanted an excuse to share a cool fun fact-

There's already comments about this, but Neru is not a Vocaloid, she is a fan made Vocaloid. She herself has no voicebank and songs she sings are just low pitched Rin and high pitched Miku.

Ooohh, I might try this once I unlock all Experts (some song are too boring for me so I didn't play all of them lol) At leats for my gameplay I would add and change some rules since nuzlockes are meant to be hard, not impossible haha :'/ (Sadistic music factory will still kick my ass): - I'd pick max 3 modules (since Teto only has 3) for each character, they HAVE to be your top 3 favourites (kind of like how you should nickname your Pokemon so you grow attached). - You should only use those modules till they "can't sing anymore". So basically you get 30 lives which is reasonable considering the amount of songs and how hard the game is - If the song features more than one character, the module you are nuzlocking with should be "singer 1" and the other character(s) should be the recommended module. - Like you said, once you get a DROPxOUT you can't use that module anymore - Agree with what you said about playing at a difficulty above what you usually play - I wanted to sort the songs by level but that would mean playing with the same character for the first 30 or so easy songs, so you should sort them alphabetically and make your way through them starting with Acute (Easier to keep track than randomising them) - You win the nuzlocke by clearing all songs, if you fail one song you can skip to the next one but you must eventually clear them all - A full combo lets you play a song that you previously failed in a lower difficulty (a nice reward for skilled players). Hope this one is not too OP tho, I like to think that not every player is Hisokee

I think opting to put a star limit would make it more accessible meaning songs above your skill cap are played on an easier ranking but if it's too easy, you have to do more than just pass or use modifiers to make it more difficult. I'm above average so I'd scale this based off the difficulty where you can get your highest and lowest ranks and scale accordingly. I'm at the point I'm barely able to pass a couple 10's, I can pass most 9.5's but not always first try, and pass most 9's but with Great if I'm lucky, so my rules would be: 10 Star - Don't die 9.5 Star - Pass with any ranking 9 Star - Pass with a Great ranking or higher 8.5 Star - Pass with an Excellent ranking or higher 8 Star - Pass the song with a 99% or higher (misses are allowed) 7-7.5 Star - Pass with a Perfect ranking (no misses) Anything below 7 - Pass with an Excellent rating with a difficulty modifier I can opt to lower the requirement by one tier by adding a difficulty modifier at any ranking If I was barely able to pass 8 Extreme, and rolled a 9 extreme, I'd play it on Hard. But if it was then too easy, like a 6 Star, then you're required to either get an incredibly high percent or play with a modifier to keep you on your toes. That way you always have a fighting chance but are constantly challenging yourself.

I love the concept of making a nuzlocke for the diva games! I would genuinely try to do one but I am at the stage now where the only songs i struggle with are "the intense voice of hatsune miku" and "denparadigm" on exextreme. I also like watching your progress with higher scores in diva. When I started out and couldnt beat any song on extreme on diva F I thought to myself "im never going to be able to even attempt any song in future tone because these songs are pain". So just keep practicing my dude! one day you will beat worlds end dancehall exextreme!

I'd like to ask some questions for reference, as I'm looking into attempting this myself : - What's the end goal? Clearing all of the songs? - What happens if you fail a song? Do you try it again, either in the same difficulty, or lower? Or do you skip it?

- Basically try to aim for clearing every song at least once. - If by fail you mean the character dies: You can try the song again if you want. Or if you meant like not getting at least a standard: As long as you still have HP left then you clear it, as the challenge focuses more on survival than scores (hope that makes sense)

i did something similar but in pjsk to grind for gems, i would select a group and then try to fc each song i got randomly until i lost then move on to another group and pull after i finished, it’s not rly the same but it’s good motivation to get more fcs ( ´ ▽ ` )

I love the idea of this but man I’m stuck doing extreme and extra extreme based on my skills and I can’t pass every song on the high stars Edit: I plan on trying this when I'm bored, I can pass most songs its just certain 9-10 star songs (and maybe some 8-8.5 songs, not sure) I struggle with.
