I'm a new dasher (started in January) I didn't activate my red card until February and gave it a good trial. I'm not a confidant nor a fast shopper and ran in to so many issues that I "lost" the card and reported it lost/expired. My anxiety and stress are so much better not having to deal with that card.

Yea very true, I mostly get raising cane, DG, Walgreens/CVS, Aldi, orders that never go over 6 bux and that's 99% of them in my market but there are times that some come with a stack, and are 15$ and up and snatched those, that's why I keep my red card atleast

@@012jebaited As soon as I activated it, I started getting alcohol orders even without completing the training. I had to call support twice to get them to stop sending me those orders so my acceptance rating wouldn't be affected. At first they told me to do the training but when I told them my convictions wouldn't allow me to carry alcohol they said it would take a week to make the change. After more issues just trying to pick up 3 items and having the app crash on me I decided I was done with the red card. I did about ten deliveries with it and I decided that it wasn't worth it. Since I cancelled it my acceptance rating went from 67 to 82.

I can recommend same thing. Some people are built for shopping and others not at all, same goes for driving which you do more of with food. There is supposed to be a toggle but for whatever reason it only appears in some markets, very annoying.

the rule when we were a old school pizza delivery driver, like working for a chain company, was to NEVER enter the home, not only is it unsafe, but it is some insurance violation as well or something.

We got the new tier program last Thursday here near Kansas City, Missouri. I’ve done a lot of catering orders via DoorDash, but now that’s all gone away thanks to this new program. My ar was at 5% when starting the new program. It’s now at 20%. I can’t take all of Doordash’s crazy offers. Many are absolutely ridiculous. I’m still cherrypicking, but I’m willing to lessen the miles per money ratio a bit in order to get the AR up. I’m just not going to cost myself monies on a daily basis in order to do so. Time to look at the other apps more I think. 🤔. Great 👍 video mate. 👍

Dollar General is the worst and I always decline it. The stores are always a mess and the items are rarely in stock.

Hey Mike, I actually am a full time dasher in Pittsburgh believe it or not, but I actually have found that by hour+tips has actually been extremely more beneficial. Especially on busy nights ie Friday and Saturday making 30+ an hour over in south Pittsburgh sticking near 51 has been the best. I never leave my area, and if I do, I instantly get another dash. Believe it or not, doing it by hour will innately boost your ar because of course you have to accept offers but I am platinum and I’m finding that the higher price orders still apply to hourly drivers and I’m actually making more than ever! I really would love to see a video about hourly and at least give it another chance. DoorDash is really leaning into it with higher per hour rates as well

While you look at the new stuff in the dasher app, you really should look at what it looks like as a customer. They are really pushing bigger tips on the actual doordash app. Just a different pov

I think the new BEST way to dash, at least nowadays, would be by hour+tips. Especially with the new rewards program. I would love to see a full day video trying it for yourself

That’s good that ebt works in your area. I tried ebt on a Monday and I didn’t get a single order tipping more than $3 and kept getting 20 mile no tip orders. I’m sticking to earn per offer

@@thestaticisreal yeah it all really depends on the area and layout. I HATE the city. I know Mike does it only in the city in Oakland because I recognize his spots, and while you can make good money, the headache is not worth it. The parking is annoying, college kids are EVERYWHERE and the road work is never ending. I’d rather be on the outskirts with suburbia than be trying to find a parking spot for 10+ minutes and getting pissed off almost to the breaking point. If by order works best for you, then by all means, keep it up. I would never want someone to make less money than they can. I was just recommending it specifically for Mike because he is in the same area as me

Hey Mike I am 13 miles east of you in Monroeville where I've done Uber Eats almost 5 years doordash over 4 and 1/2 and all the other gig apps. I'm in the same position. I'm not in the rewards yet keep trying to boost my AR and then doordash knocks it down another one or two. Yesterday was a slow day. Slow start to the week couldn't even get many doordash. I was running four apps.

I’ve figured out how to keep platinum. My ar stays around 73%. 30 deliveries a week. Not really difficult. When I used to let my ar drop into the 60s it was difficult getting it back up. Doing earn by time and just driving works well. Crank up the music and take my time.

I’m in Boston, last week made 60 to 100 dollars in 8 hours dash time. Took me a couple days but i got my AR rate up to 85% now I’m making 160/180 in 8 hours dash time. Definitely noticed the difference rewards program been here since February I think.

Why not just tap “Handed it to customer.”? It's right under “Take a photo” in gray text. In my app at least.

Don't trust it if they don't text you to leave it then you don't have proof 💯 people will say you didn't leave it at door then bang contract violation. Has happened to many times

@@YourDriverMike No, always take a picture when possible to cover your butt. Most people understand pictures are required and that way they can't say they didn't get it. Pgh dasher here as well. 😉

@@marshall2188 What's the difference when they make it a “hand it to me” order initially? They could do the same thing. I cover myself by messaging. If I hand it to them, I send a message confirming that we met and they received it.

I'm DoorDashing too in North Pittsburgh mostly...I love it....when I started I was doing per hour which was a good way to start so you are encouraged to accept nearly everything which gets you a great acceptance rating....then i started cherry picking on the per order and liked it for getting good orders but didnt like it for making acceptance rate go down so I'm trying to stay mostly on per hour to keep acceptance rate up otherwise I'll decline too many orders....I'm working back to platinum because I love to deliver doordash to go home and order Doordash....lol.....

I'm platinum. My AR is generally between 65 and 75%. Currently I'm at 72. It's easier to keep a high percentage once you have it, than it is to get it in the first place, because at the higher AR you're getting better orders. BUT... I can only dash at relatively busy times, because otherwise there aren't enough good orders and I start getting more cheapo orders. So to keep my high AR I usually only dash from around 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., and 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. or so. In a more urban area I might be able to expand those hours.

Can confirm pretty much all this. The struggle isn't so much staying there although slow or rough days can make you question yourself, its simply getting there in the first place. Can take weeks, or at least one solid 40-50 hour work week worth of effort totally dedicated to it taking as much as possible everything but say crazy 15-20+ mile offers, but once there it gets way easier.

Man I’m still new at this I was killing it and since yesterday afternoon I have gotten nothing really all the offers are 10 to 15 miles away from where I am and that was just a couple not taking those I just took one for 3.50 for just over 2 miles because I keep declining the ones far away so I’m down to 56% so took that one just to stop the bleeding

I'm a Platinum Dasher in Yakima.... Today was the slowest day I've had as a driver and I'm at almost 1,500 deliveries. Dash time for today was 5 hours. Active time was 2 hours. Made $61.75.

it was my first night doing more than an hour or two here in vegas and it was 79 bucks for 4 hours 15 mins, 2:40 active. now its 10:30 pm and theres still +$2 and +$3 all over the place lol im excited to go full time

I noticed something but not sure if it is really happening. After you have platinum status and can dash when ever. I noticed that if you dash for 1 hour at a time, you tend to get that $25 per hour much easier than if you choose dash for longer periods. Some of the times I hit $30 per hour. Tgis has been when the zone is slightly pink with no busy notice. This is not to say it works all the time but it does seem to be more than if you decide you are going to dash for more than an hour so you don't have to worry about doing it over and over.

I believe you can reset your AR if you contact support, its at least a possibility. if you do though you start from 0 deliveries out of 0 so you really have to take everything for 20 or 30 orders and even then any decline will hit you hard. If you know a zone you can get to out in the suburbs where no order should take too long due to traffic or have any safety concerns then grinding it out there can be a good buffer, also reminder that if shop and pay is driving you nuts you can always accidentally lose your card and request a new one when ready since those orders typically may pay more but also take a long time to complete relatively (some places they have a toggle, and everywhere you can request to be taken off, but sometimes losing the card is best temporary option if you have no toggle) Id say in general though doing a suburban grind is easiest. You'll see higher mileage but if same milage goes by 4 times quicker and with less stop and go it shouldn't cost you like sitting in traffic will, mileage standards have to be looked at totally different (like halved) but hourly can go up as both your time and gas efficiency will to. Bonus: Another option if shopping is slowing you down too much is to do Earn Bu Time since this orders don't appear there.

I had a shopping dash when redcard didn't work, they couldn't get it to load and I didn't have enough in my account to cover the order. Having to cancel because I couldn't pay for it counted against my completion rate even tho the issue started with their red card

Congrats on maintaining you high AR have you noticed any changes good or bad in your offers?? i have.... consistently getting double digit offers sometimes stacked. your location? these are my ratings 4.89 100% 100% currently 937 LTD's started dashing Nov 2 2023, made TD by Dec and have been one since, the new program silver/gold/platinum has not yet arrived in my locale but as you can see by my ratings i am platinum level if and when the change does occur

I have noticed since I dropped out of platinum status down to silver status that both the quantity and quality of offers have drastically dropped. I have done all the trouble shooting steps, and changed zones and nothing changes. Any advice would be great since DD support can’t seem to help or understand @YourDriverMike

Im in Arkansas and hate Dollar General orders, i guess by reading the comments its not just our DGs. App is telling customers items are Overstocked, yet the store doesn't even carry the variety the customer ordered. And boxes have been sitting in the isle for nearly a week and still havent been opened

i doubt it!! the numbers dont lie 30- 31% AR to at least 70% might as well do 100 dashes in a row like did when i first started, hell i think it was 200 + but who's counting, lol. seems like many dashers are willing to take what they want, but are also willing to let DD die because of their cherry picking antics which ultimately causes the program to fail, have enough drivers reject orders, customers get pissed DD adds new drivers eventually flooding the particular market with new dashers making the market in that particular area unprofitable, DD service quality goes down, pissing off customers, eventually forcing DD to close the market and Ta Da all you cherry picking MoFo's are out of work/offers/cash, from this opportunity, flame if you want but these are my ratings 4.89 100% 100% currently 937 LTD's started dashing Nov 2 2023, made TD by Dec and have been one since, keep following these you tube cherry pickers advice and you'll be looking for other opportunities rather quickly

We still have Top Dasher program in my market, so the easiest way for me to raise AR at the end of the month is to Earn By Time. The low tip, low mile orders actually end up paying decent mile:pay ratio. It’s the long mile no tip orders that suck lol

Hers my secret, use promos to get AR up, that gives you more flexibility when you work on 2$ tuesdays. But always keep it around 70, bc the minute I get at 70 or under, and the color goes from green to orange, I get nothing but 2$ orders unless I’m one of the only drivers out.

You don't have to take a photo. There is a handed it to customer option right below the take a photo option.

@normansmall1789 But by taking a quick photo of every order regardless, protects you from the shady, dishonest customers who recieve the order but then report it as "order never arrived". Sometimes even after Doordash's investigation into it, some dashers get deactivated anyway. It's just piece of mind, and a good way to protect yourself, because it does happen.

Those health center deliveries do sometimes have people who want you to bring the order inside. I've done it twice and it was basically because they were disabled. No problem.

I have platinum, my market's small enough that you basically dont work if you dont have platinum. The shop and delivery isnt just you dont worry, i feel like lately its been at least 50% shop and deliver.

You can go in your settings and only pick up and deliver food. I do not do any grocery shopping as I have a leg problem. My AR is like 4.79 and they say it’s good. I thought they deactivated your account if you were below 4.2. Oh well, I learned something new today. I don’t take every offer. I just can’t.

Ive been platinum since January and have NOT lost it since. Juggling my percentages where my acceptance rate goes between 70-82% and completion rate between 95-100%. Not hard to do it either. Just keep an eye on your ratings and you can STILL cherry pick if you keep your ratings like this. I still dont deliver $2-5 orders either. I can still be picky because the way ive kept my ratings juggles both ratings perfectly. When you are at 95% completion rate, thats when it gets tricky, but if its kept at 100%, you can drop it to 96% by dropping crappy orders without hurting your acceptance rate. Meanwhile, try keeping your acceptance rate above 75%, that way, if you see trash orders, you can easily pass them up with no issues. Heres a pro tip, if your at 70% on Monday, try to get your AR to 80% by Friday night. That will give you freedom to deny crap orders most of the weekend, so long as your not in a crappy market with low payouts all day, which also means you shouldn't be there in the first place IF your trying to earn. I have 26,000+ lifetime deliveries 4.92 customer rating 73% AR Completion Rate 97%

Nearly every Dollar General order I've ever done had items not in stock. So a waste a bunch of time trying to find them, and then when I'm certain they don't, I waste more time contacting the customer asking about substitutions and hoping they respond in a timely manner (hint: they don't). Also, when I've had red card issues I had to wait like 30-45 minutes to get a response from support, so yeah.

hate DG as well but i do them but make sure you set you phone to connect to "DG"s customer router it can sometimes help alleviate some of the in store issues, whenever i get an offer to a new place i take the time to check out if there is any wifi i can connect to, can save alot of time in stores

@@YourDriverMike Report your card as lost, then don't activate the new one. My senior parents just started dashing together a few months ago. I told them don't activate the card because I know shopping is going to be too complicated for them. They're doing okay with the basic orders. (You will still get grocery delivery orders from say Giant Eagle but it's just the pickup and drop off kind - no shopping).

@@YourDriverMike You report it stolen/lost and just never activate it again. Also in some markets under the preferred orders tab [same area you turn off cash on delivery orders] you can turn off shop and pay also. Not many markets have this feature yet tho.

About 20 miles north of you and no way I could ever get to 50%. So many shopping orders with more miles than dollars going away from my area on top of having to shop. I get nonstop orders from Aldi and wonder who takes these orders, 50 60 70 items and then get dinged on AR. The only concern on the new system is being able to schedule, I have had it for about a week and have not seen any change at all. They really need some sort of criteria for AR when they send out orders that are just unreasonable, I take a bad one every so often just to be a team player but not every other one.

90% of the shopping orders are so bad, I'd recommend turning off ya redcard via the preferred orders tab if you have it in your market, if not report the card stolen and be done with it.

i had an order 2 weeks ago, it wasnt a nursing home, it was a trailer park. i get to the door and i knock the lady says come in, i said i cant open the door my hands are full, i had my cell and the bag in one hand and her drink in the other. i said this she says come in again, so i put the drink on the ground and open the door. she was an old lady and i think she was disabled, i handed her the food and i started to leave and she handed me a 5 dollar tip on top of the tip she left in app.

Is it just me or......DD pops up a note and says.."if you decline this order....AR goes down 1%..... BUT it take 3 or 4 accepted orders to RAISE it 1%...????? out of 100 orders We declined 15...... BUT....this "math" is consistent with DD...it ALWAYS goes down 1% with declined order but it once again take 3-4 orders to raise AR 1%... and if DDis only using 100 orders at a time an accepted order should raise AR rates 1% Is this happening to others...?????

Pay attention to the last 100 orders in the last 30 days, with each passing day the orders from 30 days ago are deleted the next day, unfortunate

I think they are trying to weed out the “side gig” dashers and push the best of the best to the top. I kinda like that dd is finally making the og dashers who do it legitimately a top priority. Still a trial run tho. We’ll see

@@Cewpins455 Every day they check if you have 100 orders. If tomorrow you wake up with 90 orders, you are no longer platinum. It is terrible to have 100 orders in the last 30 days.

Dude I did 4 deliveries in a row today, six in total if you count last night, and my rating didn’t move up once! It stayed at 60 percent. I think they are making hard for drivers to get with that program

@JohnnyBGoode doordash uses your most recent 100 offers to calculate acceptance rate. So when you took those four offers today, you were removing offer numbers 97, 98, 99, and 100 from your record. If all four of those previous offers were offers that you accepted, then no it won't change your acceptance rate. But as soon as you accept an offer that removes a previous offer you declined, then your acceptance rate goes up.

Higer pay is only longer drives and most time customers don't tip, it's just dashes pay

Id stop if I had a couple of days like this.....never had one like that in my area. Slow some days? Yep, but not dead. Maybe you make enough on here to have days like this? I am now retired and working part time dashing....if I have several days like you had I will find a "regular" part-time job.

Every order past 100 lifetime is replaced. So your % depends on the most recent 100 orders. So if you have 20% ar means you'll need to accept the next 50 to reach 70%

@@robcortes5014 Yep and its critical that you have an idea of your last 100 and which ones you turned down for the last 100 in order..The best way is if you have a crap order hit the decline button. When you do that it will tell if you will drop or stay the same...If it drops, that means you are replacing a decline with the last accept. if it doesnt then you are replacing with your last decline in that order. I then look and see if I can eat that crappy order so that I can move up a %. General rule of thumb and it works well.

@@robcortes5014 it maybe more depends on how many of the 100 previous offers were rejected and time of the month they occurred 20% three weeks into the month chances are making 70% not gonna happen unless you take everything and drive some pretty long shifts depending on what kind of market you have and how well your local economy is doing

Red card declines if the QR code failed to scan so it doesnt remove tax. Once you call support they'll add the difference.

I must be missing something, because I see the first order is $7 for 2 me that's what over $3 a mile? I understand you have to actually shop for the stuff in Dollar general isn't great but that seems like a steel to me

NEVER NEVER NEVER use anything but the red card to pay. If you use your cards you will be reimbursed by support as income… meaning you will pay for taxes on that…. I had a $147 purchase that was reimbursed as income. That’s about $20 In federal tax. Order pay was $24. So I earned $4 for that order. If the card does not work make sure you press on the go to cashier/self and scanned any barcode if applicable. I have not run into any problem again but I sure with drop the order at that moment next time and receive Half order pay. And yes I’m very much in the mood of loosing my card.

A) it’s now new it’s top dasher rebranded but with stricter requirements B) it has made dashing worse because even for top dashers instead of having an entire month to get perk of being able to dash whenever you want you now MUST maintain top dasher status 24/7 or IMMEDIATELY lose access.

Just "lose" your red card. I noticed 2/3 of the shop and deliver orders i recieved i was declining and only accepting the others out of sake of my acceptance rate and when i would dash during the day (not lunch or dinner times) shop and delivers were most of the offers i was receiving. Once i lost the red card and stopped receiving shop and delivers my acceptance rate flew over 70% easily. Granted you are weeding out an entire form of delivery which means less potential profit but its definitely worth doing for the sake of getting your acceptance rate up so when the dinner rush comes on friday-sunday you get access to higher paying offers first and innadvertantly slamming your competing dashers with all the shop and deliver offers because the app wont even send them to you

I'm a platinum dasher in the NY area... The offers are still almost all trash here. Most of the "high paying orders" have been like $6-10, I'm not in the catering program yet and so far the only perk for me is that you can dash anytime with no scheduling required. It's so hard to stay as a platinum dasher though, the amount of crap they expect you to take is just outrageous and I refuse to lose money going 12 miles for $5 and those typse of garbage offers. I just lost platinum today as I had to decline 8 orders in a row, they were absolutely horrendous to the point that I felt doordash was trying to bump me down from top dasher as I literally had an 18Mile offer for $8, who in their right mind would do this?

That happened to me as well. Not sure what they expect but they already have billions so we have to look out for ourselves. Maintenance on the car, gas, bills etc…

@@bobbiel8139 That's brutal and i agree, the wear and tear on the car is bad enough so I can't be doing trash orders on top of that. Unfortunately it's my full time gig right now so I had to get the AR back up. Still some very bad offers again today and very litte "Priority orders". I hope things pick up for you also!

I've had this program in my area for a few months and i was always a top dasher before the program and i was in the catering program... That being said, this program is trash. They send you all the bad orders to tank your ar, I no longer get catering orders. And as soon as you drop below 70 the map stays grey regardless of time of day. They force you to take 2 order's for 5.50 going 13.3 miles or you'll get no shift

Also once your below 70 they play this game where they end your shift early so you can't get back on. I was active for 1 hr of my 7 hour shift and it booted me when my ar got to 69

absolutely, i am not in a SGP market as of yet but i have recently noticed that i have started getting way better offers alot more consistently, still get low ball offers but alot better than before could also be from no tip slow delivery warnings as well

Red card declined because you got too many 4 packs, he only ordered one 4 pack, not 4!! Atleast that's what you said you got....you clearly said 4 of the 4 packs, and 3 singles. But he only ordered x1 4pack.

If you're a Pittsburg dasher beware from 3am to 7am. There will be no police to help you. Also, if I'm stepping out of line its to leave the store because I'm unassigning the order and for sure no way I'm paying for it. DD is not a trustworthy company for that.

i can understand the hesitance at 3 to 7 but not to pay for it, WOW bite the hand syndrome, A local CVS system was down but they were able to do cash, had three bac to bac to bac orders all for double digits, as soon as i completed an offer i got another one. Got two more later on.
