In this video we attend Retro Rides Weekender at Goodwood Race Circuit for the first time. As soon as we stepped foot in the campsite on the Friday evening I knew we were going to have a cracking weekend! On the Saturday we displayed our classics in a huge area around the track and for me, personally, I really liked this format. There were no 'clubs or 'groups' just a huge selection of retro and classic cars to check out! Also on the Saturday there was track action, the highlight for me being the Mk1 and Mk2 escorts thrashing it around the iconic race track.
On Saturday evening we cracked open a few beers and roamed around the campsite drooling over all of the classics. We were intrigued by the 'tat auction' which was old useless car parts sold off to the highest bidder, with all of the proceeds going to charity. This got quite interesting after a few beers and lots of people drunk bidding!
Sunday was a great day too. We and anyone else in a pre 2000 car were given the unique oppotunity to park on a section of the goodwood track. There was 100's of retro cars on the track all parked up and we take a walk along the track in the video. On Sunday there was also Autosolo which was great fun to watch and I will be signing up for this next year!
Overall a great classic car show and weekend, possibly one of the best I've experienced. We have already decided to book tickets for 2024 as soon as they come online.
