Terraria Calamity Mode is incredibly difficult, being one of the hardest Terraria mods. So why not play it on one of its hardest difficulties? Am I insane? Do I hate myself? Am I masochistic? the reason why the celestial onion does not give an 8th accessory slot is because the 7th slot from terraria's files already is used in master mode. An 8th one does not exist unless you code more, but the devs can't be bothered to code in an 8th one: Because on top of coding stuff that has the possibility to make the game shit itself, they'd have to rebalance the kill times, and defense stats again, and they already went through that during the making of 1.5, and the porting to 1.4.3.

to the people that are also having the same issue as cj with the d.o.g laser grids: go to settings and turn off frame skip. this will instead make the game run in slow motion, rather than choppy

Bro just found you just getting back into terraria about to do my first master mode play through I have 3000 hours in this game around and I haven’t done master mode yet, thank you for encouraging me to grind this fun ass game again. Your videos are INSANE I love the layout, your personality and how much work you put in them. One of those KZfaqrs who I was like so he’s definitely at 200k subs at least right. I think 100k by 2024 is an undershoot good luck with it all man take care

It took me more than 400 attempts to kill him on master-normal first time. Half year later i did it in around 30 on master-death. The real problem with DoG: nobody teaches you to abuse shield dash mechanics till you try to beat this dude. Abuse the shield to avoid encircling / his head, find a way to consistently pass the laser walls and done!

master death mode is honestly so much fun. i did it recently, with the added silly stipulation that i could only use mob loot weapons (i originally only wanted it to be rare item variants but. well.) I did great up until providence, because there were really no drops post ml, since i wasnt using boss loot for it, so i eventually managed to whittle the beast down with the snowman cannon (actually goated) and went on to polterghast to get my final weapons from the abyss. honestly, 10/10 run would highly recommend (maybe just on expert deathmode)

amazing video also a great tip for dog is to use asguards valor or elysian aegis to dash into him as if the enemy has a hurtbox you can dash through it without taking damage and you can also deal more damage.

ive not done exo mechs on death master, but on just about every other difficulty so: just fly across your world in a big W. up and down. you won't no-hit the boss, but youll dodge enough to win. i recommend the burning sky for the fight as well as melee. its a yharon drop but it melts exo mechs/scal

DoG’s laser lag is something everybody gets & i refuse to lower my settings for a stupid worm fight so I end up having to deal with it. Good thing I’m not insane & never go above expert mode.

the profaned goddess fight changes when in the underworld. She doesn't shoot her death laser anymore and has that thing above your head instead

You should try Mastery Mode with deathmode, but with Fargo's titan mode. me and a friend started a basic playthru and we were stumpted by the EYE OF CTHULU.

Tip for Post Polterghast: In the lowest layer of the abyss there can spawn Bobbit Worms. they cant swim and are stuck to blocks. they have a chance to drop a hook, that is insanely good.

Here is a tip for anyone struggling eith bosses who go to where you will be: Try to learn their attack patterns and when they dash. When they start you need to dash so it will miss and go waay off

menacing is seriously unmatched because of the way calamity definitely incentivises an offensive playstyle. like even though warding scales with progression in the mod, it doesnt really matter because of defense damage. and you only end up taking 3 instead of 2 hits to die, meaning its basically a compromise for nothing. but full menacing will get you a whole 28% to dps, which really adds up i dont know why i say this though, granted i havent beaten death mode, let alone death and master

It’s kinda funny with the Exo mechs trio phase. The best way to dodge it is to just run in a straight line to the left using the tracers. They’re a fancy king slime.

They added some placeholder attacks to artemis, apollo, and thanatos that make that strategy a little less simple. If you go into one direction for too long, either Artemis, Apollo, or Thanatos change their movement AI to try and cut you off. But you are pretty much right, because those don't do much outside of no-hitting. The exo mechs originally were meant to have more complex AIs, but due to multiple issues, they were moved to the future content list, into the "not scrapped, but not a priority" section.

Heyo, I'm doing my 1st calamity play through... Its going on for over 1.5 YEARS now, because I play it on and off, but it's only revengeance, and I giggled a bit when you said yharon is harder then Devouer, because revengeance DOG took me dead on 300 attempts.... Yharon took me 5 😅 I haven't played it in death, like I siad it's still my first attempt, and I don't doubt the difficulty spike, but it made me giggle a bit 😂

i'm pretty sure the lag is caused by the game engine trying to use way more RAM than it's meant to. Calamity adds ~3 GB of RAM usage on top of the game's 2 - 3, and the engine just wasn't designed for that so it kinda dies.

the rune of kos is dropped by providence, not polterghast so im not too sure what you're talking about there? lol. also there is a difference when providence is fought in hell, she gets that crystal attack instead of her beam attack.

idk if maybe master mode changes this, but I thought asgard's valor protects you against contact damage against devourer of gods? mightve helped you out with that fight. probably too late to comment though, since youve already defeated it.
